HR Prop #1: Giancarlo Stanton
In just 173 at-bats, Giancarlo Stanton has 17 home runs while hitting .297. The slugger continues to produce, and the New York Yankees will need him to keep doing his thing if they’re going to make a deep playoff run.
The veteran has four long balls in his last 11 games, and is 6-for-15 lifetime against Houston Astros LHP Framber Valdez with one round-tripper. Stanton has smacked three home runs off left-handed pitchers this season, while batting .279 in the split.
Although Valdez doesn’t allow a lot of homers, he’s given up eight of his nine to right-handed batters.
HR Prop #2: Rafael Devers
Rafael Devers is really starting to heat up for the San Francisco Giants after getting off to a slow start following the blockbuster trade from Boston. He's homered in back-to-back games and is now sitting at 29 long balls on the year. I’m predicting No. 30 tonight, given the matchup.
The Giants face Colorado Rockies LHP Kyle Freeland, who is having a terrible year. He’s allowed 20 home runs in 25 starts and owns an ERA over five. Devers is 1-for-3 against him, and that one hit left the yard.
Devers also has eight homers off lefties and 12 on the road. The high elevation will certainly be of help for our MLB picks, as Coors Field remains baseball's most pronounced band box.
HR Prop #3: Kyle Tucker
Kyle Tucker hasn’t been the most consistent this season for the Chicago Cubs, but he’s starting to swing it a lot better over the last few weeks. The slugger has three multi-hit games in his last five, and he’s now smacked 21 home runs.
Tucker went deep three times in August, and tonight’s matchup plays in his favor. Tucker is 3-for-4 with a round-tripper vs. Atlanta Braves SP Joey Wentz, and he’s left the yard seven times against left-handed hurlers while batting .267.
