HR Prop #1: Rafael Devers
Rafael Devers hasn’t performed as well as the San Francisco Giants were probably hoping when he arrived in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Red Sox. But the slugger put his brilliance on full display in Wednesday’s big win over the Chicago Cubs.
The Dominican finished the day 4-for-4 with two home runs. Devers now has eight homers in August alone.
While he has a difficult matchup today as Shota Imanaga takes the hill, Devers couldn’t be more confident at the moment. He’s managed to slug eight round-trippers off left-handed hurlers and 16 bombs at home.
HR Prop #2: Kyle Schwarber
Kyle Schwarber is having another monster campaign as one of the best power hitters in the game. The veteran has gone deep 45 times and remains in the race for the home run crown.
Six games without a long ball is a lot for Schwarber, but there’s reason to believe that could change today.
The Philadelphia Phillies face the Atlanta Braves, who send trade deadline acquisition Cal Quantrill to the hill. Although Schwarber is just 3-for-19 lifetime against him, all three of those hits were home runs.
Quantrill has given up five home runs to left-handed hitters, and Schwarber rakes against righties, taking them deep 28 times this season.
HR Prop #3: Bryan Reynolds
Bryan Reynolds is having a bit of a down year for the Pittsburgh Pirates, batting just .246 with 14 homers. However, he’s improved a lot in August, hitting .305 with four bombs.
The Bucs face Miles Mikolas of the St. Louis Cardinals today, and Reynolds has an impressive track record against him, as he’s 15-for-24 lifetime with a homer.
Reynolds left the yard in the series opener on Monday and has cracked six round-trippers on the road in 2025. Eight of his homers are off right-handed pitchers, too.
Mikolas, meanwhile, has struggled with the long ball, giving up 23 in 25 starts. He’s also allowed 15 of those homers to left-handed batters.
