HR picks for July 31

Cal Raleigh (+220 at DraftKings)

Cal Raleigh hasn’t slowed down one bit since lifting the Home Run Derby crown at the All-Star festivities in Atlanta. The MLB’s HR leader is now up to 41 bombs on the season, going deep three times post-All-Star break.

He’ll face Kumar Rocker of the Texas Rangers tonight, and Rocker owns a 5.73 ERA. The catcher is 2-for-5 lifetime versus Rocker with a double.

Rocker has allowed nine home runs in 13 starts so far this season, and he’s been even worse on the road, with his ERA sitting at 9.91. Eight of his nine long balls allowed have come away from Arlington as well.

Raleigh is a switch-hitter, but he whacks righties with 25 homers. Rocker is downright awful on the road, and I could see Seattle’s best hitter making him pay tonight in a crucial AL West matchup.

Jake Fraley (+450 at DraftKings)

Jake Fraley isn’t exactly a guy with a ton of power, slugging only six bombs this year, but the matchup plays in his favor.

The Reds take on the Braves, who give Carlos Carrasco his first start in an Atlanta uniform. He’s had minimal success in 2025, posting a 5.91 ERA. The veteran has allowed seven homers in just eight appearances.

Fraley is 1-for-3 lifetime against Carrasco with a round-tripper. He also just left the yard in his last game on Tuesday, going 1-for-3 with a home run against the Dodgers. All six of his bombs are off right-handed hurlers, and three of them have happened at home.

Carrasco is home run-prone, and Fraley will have some confidence here given his track record versus the righty. This play is worth a look.

Brandon Lowe (+330 at DraftKings)

Brandon Lowe is one of the Rays’ best hitters and a guy with no shortage of pop in his bat.

The veteran has left the yard 19 times this season, and 16 of those home runs are off righties. The Yankees send Marcus Stroman to the bump today, and he’s not exactly thriving, compiling a 6.09 ERA. That rises to 7.11 at home, and New York hosts Tampa in the rubber match this afternoon.

Lowe is 4-for-16 lifetime off Stroman with one long ball. Stroman has surrendered six bombs in just eight appearances this year, and lefties have taken him deep five times. This is a perfect matchup for Lowe as the Rays look to salvage a series split in the Bronx.

He also happens to swing it well in day games, going deep nine times. It wouldn’t surprise me if Lowe puts one in the bleachers in the series finale against a divisional rival.
