HR picks for June 16
JT Realmuto (+750 at DraftKings)
J.T. Realmuto is having a very quiet season offensively, hitting just .242 with five long balls and 26 RBI.
However, there’s reason to believe he'll go deep tonight. The Philadelphia Phillies take on the Miami Marlins this evening, and they send Sandy Alcantara to the mound, who is struggling immensely and remains a candidate to be moved at the trade deadline.
Realmuto is 11-for-36 lifetime against Alcantara with a pair of homers. All five of the catcher's dingers have come off right-handed hurlers, and Alcantara will be the latest victim tonight.
Freddie Freeman (+425 at DraftKings)
Freddie Freeman remains elite. While his home run numbers are down with just nine so far, there’s a realistic possibility of the veteran reaching double digits tonight.
The Los Angeles Dodgers begin a crucial series with the San Diego Padres, and the visitors hand Dylan Cease the ball. He’s been far from great this year, posting a 2-5 record and 4.28 ERA in 14 starts. During that span, Cease has allowed eight long balls.
Freeman is 6-for-13 lifetime against Cease, and although he’s yet to go deep vs. the righty, he’s batting .358 against RHPs with seven home runs in 2025.
Gunnar Henderson (+310 at DraftKings)
The Baltimore Orioles may be having a miserable season, but Gunnar Henderson continues to prove why he’s one of the most promising young stars in the show. He’s batting .278 with eight homers and 20 RBI in 63 contests.
The O’s begin a series with the Tampa Bay Rays tonight, and the AL East ball club sends Ryan Pepiot to the hill. Henderson is 2-for-6 lifetime against him with a home run. He’s hitting much better against righties with a .321 average, and seven of his bombs have come against them.
