HR picks for June 4
Cal Raleigh 1+ home runs (+235 at DraftKings)
Cal Raleigh is having a massive campaign so far for the Seattle Mariners.
Raleigh is hitting .259 with an MLB-best 23 home runs and 45 RBI. The catcher has four long balls in his last seven games. He’s unstoppable at the moment.
While he’s never faced Cade Povich, who gets the start for the Baltimore Orioles tonight, the righty has a 5.29 ERA and has given up nine bombs already.
Fifteen of Raleigh’s homers have come against right-handed hurlers, and he’s also smacked 12 long balls at home.
Ronald Acuna Jr. 1+ home runs (+350 at DraftKings)
Ronald Acuna Jr. is back in business.
The former NL MVP homered in his first two games after returning from ACL surgery and while he’s only gone deep once since then (eight games), there’s reason to believe he may connect on his fourth of the campaign tonight.
The Atlanta Braves take on the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the D-backs hand Merrill Kelly the ball. Although Kelly has a solid 3.78 ERA, he’s allowed eight home runs.
Acuna hasn’t left the yard against Kelly, but he is 4-for-10 lifetime. He’s also compiled three multi-hit games in his last four. The outfielder is seeing the ball well and it feels like he’s poised to smack another HR.
Juan Soto 1+ home runs (+310 at DraftKings)
Juan Soto’s struggles with the New York Mets are a big storyline right now. The $765 million man is batting just .233 with 11 homers and 30 RBI. The reality is Soto isn’t living up to expectations at all, and he’s facing serious criticism for it.
However, the slugger is starting to find his stroke. He currently has a five-game hitting streak, and he’s left the yard in three of his last four appearances. That’s a very promising sign for Soto and the Mets, who really need him to be at his best.
Tonight’s matchup is a favorable one for Soto, too. He’ll face Los Angeles Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin, whom he is 6-for-15 against with three extra base hits.
Although Soto doesn’t have a homer versus Gonsolin, nine of his bombs are against righties.
