Shohei Ohtani has found his power stroke lately, and I’ll dive into why that could continue in my MLB player props analysis.

Aaron Judge and Kyle Tucker will also be included in my home run picks for Tuesday, May 6.

Best MLB home run props today

  • Dodgers Shohei Ohtani 1+ HR (+225)
  • Yankees Aaron Judge 1+ HR (+190)

HR picks for May 6

Shohei Ohtani 1+ home runs (+225 at DraftKings)

Shohei Ohtani is having another MVP season so far, hitting .293 with nine home runs and 13 RBI. The slugger ranks Top 7 in the big leagues in long balls and has gone deep in two of his last three games.

Ohtani also smacked a homer in the series opener against the Miami Marlins on Monday. Today, he’ll face Cal Quantrill, who owns an ERA over 8.00. He’s also allowed five home runs already, and Ohtani is 5-for-18 lifetime against Quantrill as well.

He’s already left the yard twice versus Miami in 2025, and eight of his nine home runs have come against right-handed pitchers.

There’s a lot of evidence backing up this pick. Lock it in as Ohtani looks to hit double-digits in homers.

Aaron Judge 1+ home runs (+190 at DraftKings)

You won’t find anyone in the majors with such low home run odds on a daily basis, but we are talking about the reigning AL MVP and one of the best power hitters in the sport.

Aaron Judge is absolutely tearing the cover off the baseball, hitting an MLB-best .414 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI. Those latter two marks rank second in the majors as well.

The veteran has two long balls in his last five games and has three career HRs in only seven games against the San Diego Padres, whom the New York Yankees clash with tonight. Judge will also face his former teammate in Michael King for the first time.

Six of Judge’s homers have come against righties, and he also went hitless on Monday, which is a rare occurrence for Judge. My MLB picks think he'll bounce back here and could very well leave the yard, too.

Kyle Tucker 1+ home runs (+370 at DraftKings)

Kyle Tucker has been all the Chicago Cubs could’ve asked for and more.

He’s given their offense a much-needed jolt this season, batting .284 with nine home runs and 30 RBI. Tucker has two homers in just five games in May so far, and he gets the chance to face his ex-teammate today in San Francisco Giants righty Justin Verlander.

Verlander has been prone to the long ball at times, surrendering five this season in seven starts. While Tucker is 0-for-3 lifetime against Verlander, five of his long balls are against right-handers, and he’s also batting just under .300 when a righty is on the bump.

  1. Brent Rooker, A's (+320)
  2. Tyler Soderstrom, A's (+380)
  3. Lawrence Butler, A's (+350)
