The Los Angeles Dodgers look to complete the four-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants when they collide at Dodger Stadium this afternoon.

Shohei Ohtani has two home runs and four RBI in the series, and I’m expecting another big game from the L.A. star in my Giants vs. Dodgers predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, September 21.

Giants vs Dodgers prediction

Giants vs Dodgers best bet: Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 RBI (+100)

The Los Angeles Dodgers rolled to a third straight win over the San Francisco Giants yesterday, thanks in part to another strong showing at the dish from Shohei Ohtani.

The reigning NL MVP launched his 53rd home run of the season to move into a tie with Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber for the most in the NL.

Ohtani comes into Sunday on an eight-game hit streak with five home runs and seven RBI over that span, and I think the Dodgers star is due to drive in another run against an inexperienced San Francisco Giants starter.

Trevor McDonald will make his second MLB appearance and his first-ever start this afternoon. The 24-year-old gave up three hits and two earned runs over two innings against the Diamondbacks in his MLB debut on September 16.

The Giants leaned heavily on their bullpen in Saturday’s defeat, with four relievers combining for 94 pitches. If Ohtani doesn’t get his RBI early against McDonald, he’ll likely pick one up against a fatigued Giants pen.

Giants vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)

Emmet Sheehan has recorded 7+ strikeouts in four of his last five starts and is facing a Giants team that’s susceptible to the strikeout. San Francisco ranks 19th in the majors in strikeouts per game (8.57) while Sheehan is averaging an impressive 10.5 K/9.

The Dodgers should cruise to another easy win given today’s pitching matchup. L.A. is 7-1 in its last eight meetings against San Fran while covering the spread in five of those victories.

Giants vs Dodgers SGP

  • Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 RBI
  • Emmet Sheehan Over 6.5 strikeouts
  • Dodgers -1.5
