The Milwaukee Brewers host the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLCS. Dating back to last season, Milwaukee has won eight straight games against Los Angeles.

My MLB player props and Dodgers vs. Brewers predictions expect that trend to continue in Game 1.

Read on for my MLB picks for Monday, October 13.

Dodgers vs Brewers player prop picks

Prop #1: William Contreras Over 0.5 runs scored

+135 at Caesars

William Contreras has developed into a crucial leader for the Milwaukee Brewers, both on and off the field, and his on-field play has been particularly strong of late.

Contreras led off the pivotal win-or-go-home Game 5 on Saturday night with a home run. That marked the fifth time he crossed the plate over the past five games, and this trend is likely to continue against Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell.

While he has one hit in three appearances against Snell (a small sample), Contreras has historically thumped left-handed pitching to the tune of a .304/.399/.502 slash line against southpaws for his career.

Prop #2: Blake Snell Over 1.5 earned runs

-127 at Caesars

There is no denying that Snell is an excellent pitcher. That said, he can have a strong outing and still surrender two runs, which isn’t much against this strong Brewers lineup.

This season, Milwaukee finished third in runs scored per game. The Brewers also scored three or more runs in four of their five NLDS games.

Furthermore, Snell has struggled against Milwaukee. Through three meetings, he is 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA and 1.36 WHIP.

Prop #3: Blake Snell Over 6.5 strikeouts

-148 at Caesars

Regardless of his overall performance, Snell will likely rack up strikeouts. Despite his poor track record against the Brewers, he recorded seven or more strikeouts in each of those three previous meetings.

He has been excellent all season in this department, ranking in the 95th percentile in chase rate, 96th in whiff rate, and 85th in strikeout rate.

Subsequently, Snell has recorded nine or more strikeouts in four of his past five starts.
