Cubs vs Braves Prediction, Picks & Odds — Wednesday, September 10

Chris Sale will more than do his part toward cashing the F5 Under 4, as the Cubs have flailed offensively of late and the Braves lefty has been borderline untouchable. Back more dynamite pitching at Truist Park tonight.

The first two games of this series were very low-scoring, especially early, as the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves scored just three runs combined through the first five innings of each game.

My Cubs vs. Braves predictions expect another slow burn in the finale. Let’s take a closer look at my MLB picks on Wednesday, September 10.

Cubs vs Braves prediction

Cubs vs Braves best bet: First 5 innings Under 4 (-110)

We successfully played the First 5 Under on Tuesday, with the two sides combining for just three runs through five innings of play.

There’s plenty of reason to go right back to the well in the series finale. Chris Sale will be taking the bump for the Atlanta Braves. The veteran southpaw has been almost untouchable when healthy this season, and even more so of late.

He's allowed just six earned runs over his last eight starts while completing at least six innings in each. The last time he allowed two runs in a game was May 11. The last time he allowed three or more was in the middle of April. He’s giving up nothing.

Given the Chicago Cubs rank 24th in wOBA and 26th in average against left-handed pitching since August 1, it's unlikely they’re the team to change that.

While Jameson Taillon is nowhere close to the same caliber of pitcher, he doesn’t need to be against this Braves team. They rank dead last in wOBA vs. righties this month and are struggling mightily to create offense.

This should be another slow start for the bats.

Cubs vs Braves same-game parlay (SGP)

The Cubs rank 26th in average and have struck out in more than 22% of their at-bats against lefties since August 1. Sale has recorded 7+ punch outs 10 of his last 11. Chicago's having a miserable time at the plate, which should lead to Sale once again chewing up innings and having plenty of opportunity to pile up the Ks.

Sale is consistently pitching deep into games and hasn’t given up multiple runs in a start in months. The Braves shouldn’t need to score much to win this game with room to spare.

Cubs vs Braves SGP
