The Milwaukee Brewers snapped their three-game skid in last night’s series opener with a commanding win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

I’ll be looking for more of the same tonight as I break down why the hosts should cover the run line in my Cardinals vs. Brewers predictions.

Read on for my MLB picks for Saturday, September 13.

Cardinals vs Brewers prediction

Cardinals vs Brewers best bet: Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 (+135)

The Milwaukee Brewers came into Friday’s series on a three-game skid – just their second losing streak of that length since mid-May – but the hosts quickly put an end to that with a commanding 8-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

I’m expecting more of the same from the Brew Crew tonight as their elite offense should help them cover the spread against a lacklustre Cardinals starter in Sonny Gray.

The 35-year-old has struggled through the second half of the season, posting a massive 5.91 ERA since the start of July. Those struggles have bled into September as Gray has allowed 13 hits and 10 earned runs over his last 11 1/3 innings.

The top of the Brewers lineup has been cooking with Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio already combining for 20 hits and 13 RBI through the first 10 games of September.

That duo should lead the charge for a Milwaukee squad that’s scored 5.07 runs per game this season, the second-best mark in the majors.

Cardinals vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

Brice Turang hit .343 in August and has followed that up with a decent start to September, hitting .313 through 10 games. The Brewers infielder has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 outings.

Jackson Chourio enters Saturday on a five-game hit streak with 2+ total bases in three straight and four of his last five.
