Every team in Major League Baseball will be on the field Saturday, part of a full 15-game slate. That’s plenty of opportunity to sink into betting the No Run/Yes Run First Inning bets.

It’s simple to play: pick the matchup where you think the two teams will combine for at least one run in the first inning or not.

Check out our best NRFI bets and YRFI bets as part of today's free MLB picks for September 13.

NRFI/YRFI bets for September 13

Royals vs Phillies: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

We start with the team currently tied for the longest YRFI streak in the bigs, the Kansas City Royals

Their score in the first inning on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies makes it seven straight games a run has plated in the first. Philadelphia also happens to riding the second-longest YRFI streak, at four.

Taijuan Walker starts for the Phillies, and a first inning run has been scored in four of his last six outings, and he’s surrendered all 11 of those first-inning runs.

It hasn’t been as prolific a streak for K.C. starter Ryan Bergert, but he has seen a YRFI in three of his last seven appearances.

Reds vs Athletics: NRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Athletics are the other team on a seven-game YRFI run, and they host the Cincinnati Reds, who have more YRFIs and NRFIs on the year.

Despite both teams ranking inside the Top 8 of most frequent first-inning scoring teams, I think goose eggs are getting tossed up in the first.

Hunter Greene starts for the Reds, and a single run has plated in the first inning just once in his last five starts.

It’s not much better for Luis Severino, who has seen a YRFI in three of his last eight outings.

  • Bet: NRFI

Diamondbacks vs Twins: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

Always get to an Arizona Diamondbacks’ game early, as they’re baseball’s most prolific first-inning scoring team, plating a run 65.6% of the time.

A YRFI has happened in four of D-Backs starter Ryne Nelson’s last seven starts, but those have all been in support of Nelson, who hasn’t surrendered a YRFI during this streak.

Joe Ryan starts for the Minnesota Twins, and his starts have seen a first-inning run four times in the last seven outings. Three of those YRFI’s included Ryan surrendering the first-inning score.

Arizona opened this series Friday with a run in the first, and I think it the beat goes on with a YRFI on Saturday.
