NRFI/YRFI bets for August 16

Brewers at Reds: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Milwaukee Brewers have been mashing, leading the majors with an OPS of .867 while plating 6.92 runs per game over the last 30 days.

They face Cincinnati Reds righty Zack Littell, who is in the bottom 25th percentile in expected ERA (4.55) while sitting in the bottom 20th percentile in average exit velocity and barrel rate.

Milwaukee counters with Quinn Priester, who has an xERA of 3.75. Priester tends to look shaky early, pitching to a 5.95 ERA with an OBA of .285 in the first two innings of his starts.

The Reds are subpar at the plate, but they perform better at the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark, where they have a .718 OPS and plate a run in the first inning in 41.9% of their games — the second-highest rate in the majors.

White Sox at Royals: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox are both trending upwards at the plate. Over the last 30 days, the White Sox are fifth in the majors in OPS (.766) while the Royals are sixth (.760).

Combine that with a pair of poor starters on the hill, and you have the recipe for a YRFI bet.

Chicago is giving the pill to Sean Burke, who is in the bottom 20th percentile in xERA (4.96) and has a 5.68 ERA in the opening frame. KC responds with Michael Lorenzon, who has a 5.18 ERA since the beginning of May.

Orioles at Astros: NRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Baltimore Orioles will use reliever Rico Garcia as an opener today against the Houston Astros. Garcia won't pitch long but he won't have to for this bet to cash.

The righty has an impressive 2.38 xERA with a .196 xBA in limited action this year. He has a favorable matchup against a Houston squad that has mostly right-handed hitters at the top of its lineup.

The O's have underperformed at the plate all year, and trading away Cedric Mullins, Ryan O'Hearn, and Ramon Laureano at the deadline has made things worse. The O's are dead-last in the majors in OPS (.602) over the last 15 days.

They face career journeyman Jason Alexander, who has looked sharp lately. In his last two starts, Alexander has allowed just four hits and zero runs across 12 innings.
