The DraftKings user walked out with exactly $4,000,002.66, according to DraftKings.
At +3,700 odds, Koivun only had a 2.6% implied chance of winning the event at TPC Twin Cities in Minneapolis. DraftKings Insights shared on X that his odds peaked as high as +4,400 (2.2% chance) during the first round.
In other words, the DraftKings user won $37 for every $1 wagered on the 21-year-old Koivun, who turned professional earlier this year.
The 3M Open was just Koivun’s third professional event. He had earned $93,000 at his two previous pro events and made $1.6 million for last week’s efforts.

Despite the life-changing money, Koivun’s winnings didn’t come close to those of the DraftKings bettor, whose $4-million prize was more than 2.5 times higher.

Other 3M Open bets
DraftKings booked a couple of other notable wagers during the 3M Open on the final day of the action. One user had $2,000 on Ben Kohles at +9,600 odds, which would’ve paid $192,000. Another had $250 on Emiliano Grillo at +11,000 odds, which would’ve netted $27,250.
Neither managed to track down the winner, who shot -5 on Sunday to finish -25. Scottie Scheffler made a late charge, shooting 8-under par on the final day, but had to settle for second.
Grillo, who shot 2-under on the final day, finished tied for seventh at minus-19. Kohles, 1-under on Sunday, was ninth at minus-18.
Winning the tournament jumped Koivun all the way up to 73rd on the Official World Golf Ranking. He earned 42 world ranking points for the victory
The next event is the Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit.
