2025 British Open Prop Picks: Rozner Stands Out Among French Contenders

There are six Frenchmen in the field, and the betting favorite is emerging star Martin Couvra. However, Neil Parker is leaning toward the consistency Antoine Rozner has shown instead.

Royal Portrush plays host to the 153rd Open Championship and final major of the 2025 season this week.

I’ve scoured the British Open odds and identified a trio of props to round out my golf picks for all the action in Northern Ireland.

2025 Open Championship prop picks

Antoine Rozner Top French (+360 at DraftKings)

Antoine Rozner has played the weekend in 14 consecutive events and finished T22 last week in the Genesis while gaining true strokes across the board. This will be his third Open, and he also finished T20 in his last in 2023.

Meanwhile, Martin Courva will be playing in his first major championship, and he followed up his missed cut in the BMW International Open two weeks ago with a solo 73rd in the Genesis.

Turning to the remaining Frenchmen, Matthieu Pavon’s game has fallen off the map, and Adrien Saddier has never played a major. Julien Guerrier hasn’t played in a major since the 2007 Masters, and Romain Langasque has missed the cut in three of his past four events.

Ludvig Aberg Top 20 (+140 at DraftKings)

I’m expecting a big week for Ludvig Aberg after gaining true strokes across the board and finishing T8 in the Genesis last week. He carded 20 birdies and two eagles while ranking 13th in true strokes gained putting.

Major championships have been a hit or miss for the rising star, so while he’s missed the cut in four of seven, he’s also finished second and seventh over the past two years in the Masters, and he was T12 in the U.S. Open last summer.

I also value Aberg gaining true strokes off-the-tee and on approaches in five consecutive events, ranking 12th and 22nd in this field in those metrics over that stretch.

Hideki Matsuyama Top Japanese (+110 at FanDuel)

Hideki Matsuyama paced a watered-down field in true strokes gained on approach during his T13 finish in the Rocket Classic, and that’s all I need to recommend backing him to beat his countrymen in a major championship.

The improved iron play dates back to the U.S. Open. Matsuyama has gained +1.54 true strokes on approaches per round to rank second in this field in the metric, and he’s finished better in consecutive events since the T42 in the U.S. Open.

He also keeps a close eye on CoolBet because the polar bear brand often has outlier NHL and NFL moneyline prices.

If his decade-plus teaching run taught him anything about sports betting, it’s to stay the course and use the summer – or offseason – to refresh and prepare to be better in the year to come.
