The 20-9 Las Vegas Aces are in Atlanta tonight to face the 18-10 Atlanta Dream. The Aces are tied with the Golden State Valkyries for the second best record in the WNBA while the Dream own the third best record.
On Saturday afternoon, the Aces blew a big 4th quarter lead in Chicago and got buried by a 3-pointer with one second left, losing by one point, 84-83. This was reminiscent of their previous road game in Washington, D.C. on July 22nd where they blew a big 4th quarter lead and got beat by a 3-point play with 12 seconds left, also losing by one point, 100-99.
The Aces have been reliable all season long in bouncing back from a loss, going 7-1 SU & 6-2 ATS. Their last six losses have been followed by wins, and tonight they've been installed as underdogs.
The Dream appear to be on a roll having won their last 5 games, but are they? Their last 7 games have come against the league's bottom feeders except for last Wednesday's 82-81 win in Dallas in which the Wings choked away a 15-point lead. The Dream, as I mentioned above, are 18-10 but just 7-6 since June 20th. June 20th, by the way, happens to be the last time the Dream covered the spread at home. That was six weeks ago! Since then they have gone 5-2 inside the Gateway Center but a very ugly 0-7 ATS .
So what's gonna happen tonight? Will the Dream win a 6th game in a row? Will they finally cover a spread in front of their home fans? Will the Aces win their 7th game in a row following a loss? Or are they possibly thinking too much about the one game on this 5-game road trip they must have circled, their HUGE double revenge date coming up on Thursday in Indianapolis vs. the Fever?
I like betting on the Aces in their next game after a loss, but they're only 5-4 in their last nine games and no longer seem elite. What do you guys think?

I love Vegas off bounce backs as well but Atlanta is interesting.
Brionna Jones has returned for the Dream as part of the 5 games win streak after missing the start of the year. Jones is still working her way back but has really bolstered that team that doesn’t play many players.

I think I like the Aces, but only in the 1st half. In their last 4 bounce back games following a loss, the Aces did significantly better in the 1st half. Check it out...
On June 25th, they defeated the Wings 99-84 but led by 10 at halftime.
On July 9th they defeated the Fire in Portland 88-80 but led by 12 at halftime.
On July 20th they defeated the Tempo in Toronto 109-83 but led by 16 at halftime.
On July 28th they defeated the Fire 98-83 but led by 16 at halftime.
In fact, the Aces have done better in the 1st half in each of their last dozen games! You have to go back to June 23rd to find the opposite result, when the Aces lost 87-76 at home vs. the Liberty but trailed at halftime by 9.

There’s probably a reason why dreams are favorites despite all bad records on aces. My guess is aces will be dominant first half and then choke in 2H. I’m waiting for dear cappers to see what they take but I think aces first half spread and then dreams in 2H with plus points if they are down

They're now on an awful 0-8 ATS run at home and they'll try again on Wednesday when the Phoenix Mercury come calling.
