Dallas Wings +3.5 (-110) -- ($110 to win $100)
Bankroll: +$1,105
WNBA Record: 37-26
Notes:
Dallas has to have a sense of urgency. They’re currently the 8th seed, and staying in that position probably isn’t ideal because, if the playoffs started today, they would most likely draw the Minnesota Lynx in the first round. That’s a matchup most teams would prefer to avoid. Dallas has also been struggling recently, making this an important time to regain momentum and improve its playoff position.
It also seems like things change once the season gets close to the playoffs. Not every team approaches the final stretch the same way. Some teams are fighting to move up in the standings and improve their first-round matchup, while others are simply trying to hold onto their current seed. Some teams may rest key players, manage minutes, experiment with rotations, or focus more on getting healthy for the playoffs than winning every remaining regular-season game.
Then you have teams that are already eliminated, where motivation can become unpredictable. Some may continue competing hard, while others may start prioritizing player development, giving younger players more minutes, evaluating their roster, or simply playing out the schedule.
That’s why I think it becomes even more important to pay attention to what each team is actually playing for. At this point in the season, two teams with similar records can have completely different levels of urgency and motivation. The standings alone don’t always tell the full story.

I agree, Lefty, but I wish it were that simple. I do my best to understand the situation and identify which team has the edge in that particular spot. Hopefully, if I can do that consistently enough, I’ll win more than I lose.
