MTL - We increased the text to 5 extra minutes - let's see how that works for you. It was starting to get close to 5-6 minutes before game time and I want it to remain about 10-12 minutes out. The issue sometimes is the amount of time it takes for the phone carriers to process the text request.

The time for the games are set by the sportsbooks for those games (8:05, 10:35, etc), so we can't really do anything about the difference of when your book closes VS a sportsbook. You might need to find someone who goes by the Vegas times for closing the line so you have the time you need.

    Good Luck!

I'm planning a trip to Vegas. Has anyone checked to see if this is adequate time to place a live wager? Most sportsbooks don't allow cell phones.

SJP - I was just at the Venetian about a month ago and what I did was used the watchlist to make notes of the upcoming games (using my cell phone). When I got the text message I would just correlate the numbers to the picks and bet them. I got every single bet in that it sent - the only problem is sometimes the Sportsbook didn't have a line on an Added Game that an online sportsbook will have. I've been about 10 times using Veripicks and stayed at 3-4 different casinos (Treasure Island, Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian) and have no problems with the time restrictions on the plays. Just use the watchlist to prepare yourself for betting about 15 minutes till tip-off and wait for the text.

From what I could tell the sportsbooks have dropped most of the phone restrictions. I sat with my phone on the table at Treasure Island all day and didn't have anyone tell me to put it away (like they used to). They don't even announce that no phone are allowed in the sportsbooks either, they probably figured out people can shop lines on the internet and don't need their phones anymore.

What do you guys think about doing a negative progression with the #1 pick from each day?

Day 1: Bet 1 Unit on Top Game.

If it wins, awesome! If it loses. . .

Day 2: Bet 1 Unit for the Unit lost on Day 1, and 2 Units to profit from Day 1 + Day 2.

    ETC. ETC.

Only for the first pick?  Sounds strange, but rather harmless.  I would be careful increasing your bet size though too much as this system has continued to be very profitable, but also very streaky.  You want to be able to handle the downswings.

As for your other question about Vegas, I stayed at the Orleans over Thanksgiving in Vegas and they never hassled me about having my cell phone out.

On a side note if you are a baseball fan and like Pete Rose he signs in the shops at Caesar's pretty much every day.

SJP - I think the only alternative to playing all the games is only playing the 80+ unit picks and staying away from the 70 unit ones. You might also consider not playing games that don't have any history - meaning the PWin is 0-0. These plays are unproven but Veripicks feels they are strong (just like the Nuggets Under tonight).

I think we are going to see more and more profitable nights as the system continues to learn from it's wins and losses. When we put the new data in last week it gets much more detailed in how it analyzes games and hopefully for us this pays off in the end with fewer but more reliable plays. Just like tonight, only 4 plays, usually we'd have about 10.

Let's pull for the Bucks to pull out the last game and celebrate another winning night. So there's a free pick for anyone needing a second half line. If the Bucks are behind by 3 or more, then take the Bucks 2H (you'll be rolling with us).
    Good Luck!

    Good Luck!

I'm surprised Veripicks System didn't pull out Nets ATS VS Nuggets. There was a ton of money, according to the website, on the Nuggets.

Of course, it's easy to say this in hindsight. :)

SJP - You are exactly right and based on your post above I went back through the code for posting Veripicks plays and noticed that we weren't showing plays that have proven to hit at 70% or better even when they didn't have a strong Veripick score. The type of play that Nets +3 last night has been 5-1 (80%) and should have been a play last night. You can see on the Recap Report how it's highlighted now.

    Nice job - thanks!

Will you look at the Ball State/Miami Ohio game? It says 75% PWin, but it's only a lean?

Strange I would also think the ML would be a play at 50%.  Lots of leans and few plays wonder if something is going on...

Everything is working correctly. Give it a few minutes to get everything straight. Remember it keeps working until the games start. It doesn't play any games if they are less than 60% PWin. Looks like it brought out the Ball St game and another - must have been waiting on more data or something. Keep watching looks like 6-7 plays for tonight.

Also, pay attention to the fade plays tonight. Veripicks is not going to play them but it's pointing out plays that it would usually make that are losing more than 30% (after they have 5 in their history). Might be some games to throw into a parlay or something.

If they consistently lose then then we might incorporate these fades into our plays. I usually don't like fading the system, but might consider it if we can show it's consistent (meaning > 10 games). What do you guys think?

I don't understand the "fade" plays. Are they official? Do we play the opposite?

Fade play just means that the play Veripicks has (i.e. Wizards Over 191) has not consistently been a good play. So you would play Wizards Under 191 for example tonight if you wanted to "fade" the system. Right now DO NOT play them - just pointing them out because for some reason Veripicks has picked these types of games wrong consistently.

Let's see how they go for a few days and we'll make a decision then.

Baylor/Oklahoma was moved from today to an early game tomorrow. Are we playing the same side from today? Thanks!

SJP - right now the Watchlist still has it as a play. We'll have to wait until game time to see if the play is still good. The system updated correctly last night and removed it from the history (since it was delayed). It's back on the Watchlist for today.

Had a profitable night going 4-2 (67%) +180 yesterday. Today looks like it's going to be a big card with an early game then tons of action tonight. If we would have "faded" the plays it pointed out last night we would have went 3-0 on those too. Let's watch again today and see what happens (check the Recap Report for more details).

It was a very nice night.  I went ahead and played ole miss on the ml, since it was put out as a 50% play.  I think anytime it is 50% or higher at +200 or greater it will turn out to be profitable.  Anyways looking forward to another nice night tonight.

RCH - that really wasn't a bad play last night. The ones to watch out for on the ML are that +300-600 where you have strong Veripick (first column on the Moneyline) and you think to yourself there is no way this team wins. Like St. Johns the other day....

Looks like a big night tonight - hoping we win BIG!!

What happened in November? It sticks out like a sore thumb VS December and January.

    Thanks!

SJP - We started tracking on November 25th. So you are only seeing 6 days of results. Once you sign in, you can see the plays by clicking on this link : https://www.veripicks.com/index.php?page=history&start=11/01/2010&end=11/31/2010
You can input any two dates in there (if you are a member) and see the results from those days. It will return a max of 500 plays for any given time frame. This is similar to what you had requested a few weeks ago.

Let me know how it works.

Just a thought... but how about implementing a "streak survivor" type of challenge? Have a leaderboard and some sort of prize for the top streak. I, for one, would love it and invest time in building a decent winning streak. Maybe even have the system make picks and to see if the system can get a long streak that we could perhaps go head to head with the system as a challenge.

Rules would be simple: one pick a day... spreads and point totals only... and build a winning streak.
