Scoops, let me ask you this because I think it will be helpful to get your thoughts and your perspective.
After any of those games over the past few seasons, where I had provided you with a write-up, a few links to news articles, links to video streams of the game, in-game commentary and scores, and anything else...and my pick hit (or didn't hit) and you tailed me...would you have ever considered throwing me a small tip? Not anything crazy, but 25 cents or a dollar? If I didn't ask for it and I was just providing you with insight and you had a very simple, one click process for doing it, would you? Think back on those game.
Your answer to that question is very important. It would be a real-world example (albeit just one data point) of whether or not my philosophy holds water.

The maturity of the overall Covers community continues to dwindle, almost on a daily bases. Don't let a few jealous skeptics sway your intention to try something inovative. At times people can be incredulous in their outlook to anything that is different.

I'm trying to come up with one good reason why I, as a game capping message board participant, would choose to post anywhere else when something like this is available. I can't come up with anything...well, I can come up with one thing. If I didn't have a bank account to tie my PayPal account to. I think the fact that posters will have to have a valid PayPal account during registration will filter out some of the immaturity we see running rampant on other forums. The PayPal/Bank account requirement will serve as a pretty good control for that purpose alone.
By the way, you're only allowed to link 1 PayPal account to 1 Bank Account. That is a PayPal control requirement. They don't allow you to have any more than that. Since we require a valid PayPal address, the likelihood that posters would have a handful of usernames on our site is greatly diminished. If someone tries to register on our site with a PayPal address that's already in the system, they'll not be allowed to get past registration at LuDawgs.
I expect it will be a forum that's much more mature, offers everyone an opportunity to make some money, and will be hosted on the very best forum software available in the world, vBulletin 4.1.x. The chance that you might get a tip for posting plays is simply icing on the cake.

We don't need anything from you besides your participation in making this thing fly. It honestly doesn't matter if you're not a "great capper". The very greatest in the world are picking 53% winners. Think about that. The cool thing is, you can find your own niche on our site. You can be the guy who comes through on others game threads and provides them with a live stream link to a game, or provides score updates, or any other thing that posters might see as useful...figure out an easy way to search for news articles using Google and provide those in others game threads with a simple copy paste. You don't just have to be a good capper, you simply need to be a good contributor to the community. Do something helpful. Hell, you come across a great free porn site or a free beer giveaway, post up the link! I'm tipping for that all day long!"
That's the difference between LuDawgs and the others. This will be a forum that is largely supportive of everyone and works together as a huge team (for the most part). You don't have to be the best capper or even a good capper. You just have to find something you enjoy and bring it to the table. Someone out there will think it's useful.

We had extensive meetings with our attorneys last night. Everything is ready to go. LLC, registered trademark, and obviously registered copyright.
If we hit our development milestones, we'll have everything ready for use by next Thursday. We're excited to have everything launch just in time for March Madness. So go get your PayPal account, get your study on, find some great match-ups, and bring it to the table. It's going to be exciting to watch it fly.
