I don't think it was an act at all. The kid is phucking lost and loved the attention. I believe he is as phucked up as he presented himself to be. From the way he described his relationship with his parents he was probably happy that he finally had attention from someone even if it was strangers on a gambling site.

Half of the people here I consider more than reasonably bright. As always, when the ego kicks in, the learning stops. Take the best of it and don't head down the path of cg. Either bring cg back or just delete the whole thing Chinese style.

This video was published on March 1st so he lost 22.8k gambling since March 1st. Oh well, this is what chasing does to bank account and his thinking process..
First it was to get back what he won, then it was to get back to even, then it was to get back half he lost, then it was to get back half his loss, then it was.......  never ending story till all the money is gone.  Addiction is a girl.

Of course he will learn from this....If dude ends up moving back out east, which won't happen for a long time if it does, starts funding another 401k I think it's safe to say he doesn't cash it out in and move to Vegas and attempt to be a pro capper. You act like he has done this before...While I agree he was in way over his head, the guy is not the moron everyone makes him out to be....Smart enough to get a good education. Had a good job. His dream was to make a living capping sports and he tried and failed...With his education and experience and young age he can always. start over. Oh yeah, and documenting this thing turned out to be brilliant. Not a boring guy and is great in front of a camera. Worst case scenario he goes back to his old life but I believe he will find work in Vegas. The promotional business loves personality. As far as the substances abuse issue, does not make him an idiot just makes him 1 in 5 Americans. To say he has not learned anything in 27 years is a joke. To suggest he is incapable of learning anything is moronic. CG is not a high school drop out who has never had a real job, inherited some money and dumped it in slot machines. Dude had a dream and gave it a shot. You calling him a restarted monkey says more about you than him......He will be fine.

It's called sarcasm.  I found it ironic that a 28 year old man would (on youtube) try to act tough and macho by chugging Bud Light, a beer normally drank by women (and girls).  I never wanted him to fail, and did not take pleasure in it.  I was pulling for him for a long time.  But, it turns out that he's kind of a dlckhead.  Honestly I hope he gets help, he needs it.  If you want to say I "turned on him", fine whatever, define it however you like.  He's not listening to anything anyway.  The entire saga has really ended in a pretty pathetic way.  But, I was entertained by it all, from start to finish.  I'm not going to apologize to you, or anyone, for being entertained by it, and for the amount of time I spend on the thread, or the number of times I post in it.  Pretty self-righteous of you to come in here and post nonsense like this.  Yeah, I'm seeking attention like CG does?? WTF?!?  Hold on, let me go get some coke and booze and post a youtube video really quick.  Posting here was/is fun for me.  Anything that happened to CG is 100% his own fault.  Anything I posted pro/con had no bearing on the end result, literally ZERO.  I actually learned a lot from this thread from the posters exchanging ideas and discussing strategies about risk/bankroll management, odds, goals, plans, etc.  Sorry for the long post.  In short what I guess I mean is f**k off, and don't worry about what I do, and I promise, I will extend the same courtesy to you.[/Quote

Just sick of the haters who were in his corner earlier acting like they are so superior. To you I apologize. CG is not a bad guy and not at all what I expected him to be like...You would be surprised how many people who he has never spoken to or spoken nicely to hate him because they simply can't do what he is doing (not the losing money gambling part) You can tell by the degree of negativity in the posts who they are..My bad for lumping you in.

seriously??..man,are you in the wrong thread??have you seen anything thats gone on over the past 400+ pages??...im not the brainiest guy around but this meat-head makes me feel like fu.ken einstein......a complete inability to learn from mistakes and refusal to take anything on board thats said to him.......total and utter resistance to bettering yourself  and your circumstances  when the means and the lessons are rite there in front of you shows staggering stupidity....but then also we're dealing with addiction here on a huge scale so thats a whole nother issue.

well, yea if having these sort of incidents documented and out there to ruin your chances of sum types of future employment is brilliant then i guess it was a stroke of genius...kudos to him!!

hahaha...wat,and less than 1 in 5 americans wud be classified as idiots???you realise the 2 arent mutually exclusive, rite??he can be a drug addict AND an idiot....its just that doing that shiit all day whilst embarking on the extremely demanding "career path" he had chosen enhances his reputation as an idiot exponentially....clear head and emotional stability in this line of work are absolutely essential i wud think......but then once again this is yet another addiction problem as well as a lack of basic nous.

who cares if he "gave it a shot"???theres NOTHING admirable or praise-worthy about doing sumthing in a manner that dooms you to fail with absolute 100% certainty,no matter how scary the prospect...once again, its not so much "ballsy",its plainly outrite stupidity and pig-headedness....its not that the rest of us are too scared to attempt such a thing(tho that is probably true also),its more that none of us are capable of such mind-numbing stupidity!!if a guy jumps out the window of a hi-rise and tries to fly do you go and slap him on the back and say "well done buddy,at least you gave it a shot!!!" as hes lying splattered on the concrete??thats wat this "dream-chase" was akin to........and no,calling him a retarded monkey says nothing of me,it just says that hes a retarded monkey
we dont actually know that he'll be fine but if thats wat you think youre free to believe so.

Why move the thread to the Penalty Box then? Half the members of the site, never mind lurkers, don't even know this forum exists.

Admittedly, the way Covers handled betED and Sarah J. Phillips, nothing they do surprises me, but even this seems a little out there.

I agree losing streaks are inevitable.  Here is what I meant:

" If you happen to hit a very good percentage of plays and stay away from losing streaks (which is impossible long term but possible for a short period of time), then bad money management is extremely profitable because you are betting more and more."

It is profitable only when you are winning.  Then when you go cold, you bankroll goes to 0.

The point I am making is, if you have a period where you go on a hot streak, and you win 40 out of 50 bets, and you use strict money management, you win a lot less than someone who is always increasing his bet.

If you flat bet, you are up 30 units.  If you increase your bet sizes fast, then you could be up 300 units.  Of course, as soon as you have a cold streak you probably bankrupt yourself unless you have the discipline to know when you are cold.

Cliff's notes of an epic does not do an epic justice.  Skim the thread, and you will get the idea.  You can learn all the pitfalls of gambling, sociopathy, bipolarism, substance abuse, and human abuse to name a few.  You can also pick up some very valuable tips and clues on how to invest more intelligently in short-term investments.

Even if cg's posts have been deleted, you can still catch the drift even if being unable to enjoy/ridicule/suffer the original rants and laments.  I suppose that would make it a type of cliff's notes.

He had no absolutely no money management & no discipline-in betting or life-bottom line. I called this in post # 20 of this forum four months ago-along with plenty of other people. Without money management of every single bet-you're eventually going down.

You should work for the company that produces Cliff notes! I would just add the MILFs and the final 0-9 streak that ended it and that appropriately sums all 11,890 posts up!

So, how does Covers find this guy? They couldn't find one guy in Cali or Washington that wanted to move? Kansas? Florida? No. Let's make it practically the longest trip possible outside of Maine........Jersey. Because we all know how much people love to hear about road trips

You give him a better car, in case he has to sell it. You certainly don't talk about the 13k he loaned relatives he never got back. More bullets for the Vegas gun, right?

He gets to Vegas. Covers tells him "Make sure you play up the humble act" First thing he writes about. Then, no better time than now to start banging MILFs and doing coke

And if this was choreographed, why not have him hook up with a stripper? He wrote about one, but actually hook up would have been a much better read. Instead, we get (including photo) the skinny MILF. He said he met a skinny MILF, and we get a photo of a skinny MILF. Why not a stripper? Plenty in Vegas to choose from, right?

His betting and videos PROVE this guy is an amatuer, and this was not set up. You simply cannot make this guy up. If this is a setup, you don't have him drop a 5k bomb and have him lose. You want to keep the character in the picture as long as you can. You certainly don't post a picture of a $5,000 losing ticket.

And why not have the CG out on the town, and actually seeing somebody famous? I mean, I hit Vegas three times a year for the last ten years, don't even stay on the Strip, and I've seen a couple of famous people. Came within 3 feet of Gilbert Gottfried (former AFLAC duck voice) at The Hilton (I will always call it that), didn't see him, but he was on the phone and just heard that whack voice. Visited Bellagio/Caesars just a few times, but saw Celine Dion at Caesars walking around. Nobody bothered her due to the large, black humanoid walking just behind her...........

I mean, you're not gonna say "I was in line at this buffet, and I was standing next to George Clooney!" But no. Our Boy CG doesn't even like buffets, just caps in the morning, works out, the trip to Wells Fargo, or the Rio for the "best lines" He didn't even have to do that once he got the line app! Still, you gotta walk all over the place in every casino to find every sportsbook.............and nothing? Not even the gal selling cell phones to Mark Cuban?

Then, as the countdown of cash steadily dwindles, you cut him off completely? You don't go ALL THE WAY? Just the fact they kept his thread in the PBox after rehab instead of GD gives one pause.

I'd write more, but I'm watching history in the making at The Masters, and gotta go.

You folks take care, and decide for yourselves.

ANYONE else assuming that Goose is actually CG?

Seems pretty likely that Goose is his alter-ego, especially the way he supported him from day one.  And then when the "organization" split up, he meant his alter-ego (Goose) splitting from him.
