Cal was the right call in this game. You chose to be on the correct side of an inflated line and the extra insurance cashed your ticket.

Great first week CG. You could not have asked for any better.

A word of advice. Save yourself the sweat and the aggravation and don't watch the games you have played. Basketball is a pr1ck of a sport to watch with the ebbs and flows that both teams always have. If you are not betting the game live then there is no need to watch it.

It will save you a lot of stress ( and hair ) if you just place the wager and check out the box score later.

    This.

I really, really wish I had "crystal ball capping" abilities so I could just make my plays and go do ANYTHING but watch the games. Unfortunately everything I do is ingame and I can definitely attest to the time consuming aspect of it all. For you, place your bets and go relax. That's what I'd do anyway.

2/16/15. Being selective tonight only one game I'm taking. I'll post after I go to casino and place my bet. I capped and capped and only see one game I really like this evening. Good discipline

hahaha... yesterday you posted before you went to the sportsbook and watched your line move a half point while standing in line.

    you're learning kid.

Just checked out your videos......Good stuff......I will be out there in March - Sweet 16 regionals....Have not been out there since 2002. Does Monte Carlo have the best sports book these days?

also have a feeling you like either Pitt or W.V. today

Pittsburgh Panthers +12 (-110) $550/$500. Virginia has great D but there offense is slumping. A lot of points to give a confident Panthers ballclub. Bol all. The only game I like today and therefore my only play of the day

Very Interesting thread.  Odds are stacked way against you but you already know that.  The reason why you will not succeed is because of boredom and too much time on your hands.  Gambling is a grind.  When you win everything is good. It's an addiction.   You workout better, you eat & sleep better and you have clear mind. However when you lose or go on that bad streak, you need something to take your mind off losing and the bad beats that will occur and vegas is the last place you want to be with the temptations of alcohol, Clubs/Strip Club, playing table games and chasing by making more bets come into play.  You need to get a part time job at minimum as you cannot cap and wager 24/7.    I will be following your threads and I want to see how you handle things when you have a streak of 3-12 not 12-3.  Best of luck and hope you make it.

The thing is, there is a difference from a guy who bets to make a couple bucks and does it for action, and the guy who does this for a living.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread (I think it was Hutch?) about how important it is as a professional gambler to find other things to do to occupy your time. If it's simply researching games/watching games ALL THE TIME you are going to drive yourself crazy. Finding the right balance is key and is something I've admittedly struggled with. Right now I'm sure it's new and fun for CG to watch all his games. But gambling for a living is a grueling grind and at some point, not watching all the games is definitely not a bad thing.

Massively agree with the first part but not so much the second. You definitely need to find something else besides capping 24/7 but taking a dead end job to occupy your time is tough to do. (especially if you are succeeding)

I totally disagree. If you do it for a living you do it for a living.  Part time job?  What happens during the upcoming 2 weeks of conference tournaments when there are games going on all day and all night?  Then day baseball?  You either go for it or you don't, half as sing it ain't going to work.  It's no more of a grind then a punch the clock job that's for sure.  If a losing day or week affects your sleep or whether you go the gym or not you shouldn't be gambling at all.

A "professional" should not have to worry about games all day all night etc...that's a degenerate.  If he is capping games the day before or in the morning he should only have to head to the sports book once and place all his bets all one time for the entire day. Plus there is online apps.  Not saying he needs to get a full time job but a part time job at minimum.
