Man, it was like a mob scene - I don't agree with what he did and would never do it myself but I think some of you are going a little nuts to talk about killing this guy. It was a dumb thing to do and hopefully he learned from it and won't do it again. If the employer fires the waitress over this then I wouldn't want to work there anyway. How can you fire someone for something they had no control over. When they go in the back or to pick up drinks or whatever they can't control what the patrons are doing.

this shit is great. I read this and laughed. who the fuck cares people, don't get all bent out of shape for it. First off, if the waitress only is making 3 bucks an hour, tell that bitch to get another job. Secondly, how the hell is it the waiter or the waitress' responsiblilty to make sure they pay?? They are doing all this running around and shit, serving others, how the fuck are they responsibe to pay? Where is the fucker that stands at the door and takes the money, that's the mother fucker that should be paying, he was asleep on the job, if he/she was there at their posts, this fartsniff dude wouldn't have been able to walk out! hahahahhaahah!!!

Their are ALOT of ex-servers in this place. Only an ex-waiter or watress could ever get this pissed over not paying for food. I never got why anyone would want such a shitty job but I guess you gotta pay your addictions some way.

That's crazy on 2 points. #1. There are PLENTY of other jobs that pay better with less bullshit. Excluding the servers at places like Mortons the average pay has to be what, $80-90 per 8 hour day with tips before taxes? Mailroom boys make more than that. Card dealers make much more than that. Bank Tellers make more. Car and cell phone salesmen usually make more than that. When talking just part time damn near all jobs worth working pay the same or better. Being a server is just a total lack of imagination on your part.

#2. Most servers can't support themselves muchless someone else.

I paid most of my college tuition waiting tables, as I'm sure a lot of other posters here did too.

In the '80's I did mostly banquets and made $200-$300 a party for 5-6 hours work.

Glad you've never had to stoop so low to earn $50 an hour.

LVWAR has to be one of the most ignorant fuckers I've ever had the unfortuante chance to meet. Kids has no clue how much money is in waiting.

Not only did I pay all of my tuition - It also paid all of my bills, my food and left me with more than enough to take out any woman I wanted and buy anything I wanted, when I wanted it.

then you're naive

$8/hour x 40 hours a week = $320 x 50 weeks in a year (2 weeks on vacation) = $16,000

$550/week in tips x 50 weeks = $27,500

Total = $43,500

That's what I used to make before I switched jobs. I say $550 a week because that's how I averaged out in a week. Some nights are busier than others and I'd only make $30-$40 in tips on a slow night but Fridays and Saturdays were guaranteed $180+ each night.

And because I know some jackass will ask how I can make $180+ in 1 night of waiting tables - think about this: a restaurant that is busy for dinner from 430pm to 8pm then slow till 10pm when all of a sudden it explodes with all the drinkers. I usually sold over $2200 worth of food/drinks on fridays/saturdays.

Bunch of fools on here. If they only knew how much $ was to be made waiting/bartending. I bartend here in vegas and have made between 80K and 120K cash for the last 4 years. Have friends who wait tables at 9 steakhouse at the Palms. One of them made 135K cash.
