Sueing may be the only way out at this point. He already had the chance to kick the guys ass when the fists started flying, but obviously that didn't happen. If he tries anything physical at this point he will most likely get sued from the guy that already worked him. If when this goes to court, sofa has a lot more ground to stand on because not only was the guy wrong in the first place by parking in his driveway, but he assaulted him. In a court of law he'll come out looking like the better person because he didn't hit the guy back
Lawyer up and take this guy for all that you can.....
make a long story short.... sure would have been easier to either ask the guy not to park in your driveway or bake him a pie.
Now you got your ass handed to you, his workers are now parking in your driveway, you're most likely going to have to take legal action against him, file a restraining order... and HE'S YOUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR.

If the neighbour has a good lawyer he can say you were on his property so he has the right to use physical force. King did the punch occur on his property? You guys should just go on celebrity boxing and settle this. I don't think you will win the lawsuit if you went over yelling at him, I hope for you that he came over to you.

I've never been in a fight in my life, but if someone punches me in the eye, I'm certainly not walking back into the house to inform a bunch of people on the internet that is just happened.

Lets assume this is true.
If you truely lost vision than that sucks.
However look back to your very first post. Neighbor parks in your driveway 4 out of 10 days. Now as much as you don't want him parking in your driveway I seriously doubt that it was effecting your life what so ever.
Instead of asking your neighbor to please move his car (what kind of man / neighbor doesn't initially take this step ?) you resort to getting his car towed (with him right in front of you).
He then sends you a bill (as much as I don't agree with your actions this is also a bad move), once again instead of ignoring it or somehow working it our with him you decide to be a smart ass and send a photo with money in it.
Ultimately you get punched in the eye and instead of being a man about it you are resorting to suing him.
So let me get this right you have intentions of taking a fair sum of money from a guy who (probably doesn't have a bunch in the first place and that doesn't even take into account family, college funds for kids issues etc...) all because you didn't feel like being a man in the first place and kindly askimg him to not park in your space. At which point he probably would of kindly said no prob sorry and I didn't think that it would be an issue.
I really hope that this isn't true because if it is than it is quite possibly the most cowardly story I have ever heard.

This forum is obviously filled with kids. A lawsuit was the correct course of action IMO. Swinging back is shit you do when you don't know shit about the world. When you know shit, you know swinging at the wallet hurts a HELL of alot more. Now I'm not saying I would have kept my temper, but you are doing the right thing. If you had just punched him back, all you woud have gotten was a soar knuckle. Now you can kick this motherfucker out the the neighborhood.

Exactly what went threw my mind when it happened. It would have felt awesome to pop him one, but it will feel even better when he pays for a vacation and a new kitchen in my house.
