She played and loss to Swiatek in Poland on July 30 6-1 7-6 in the semifinals. She’s been on a mission resurrecting / rejuvenating her career and hoping to extend her professional life a few more years on tour making good money.
Note* Yesterday she grinded out a tuff 3 set win against K. Sebov ranked #141 in the 1 round US Open Qualies.
Wickmayer’s opponent today is 27-year-old Brit …………Harriet Dart who comes in 4-6 in her last 10 matches.
Note* Prior to yesterday H. Dart had loss in the 1 round of 3 straight tourneys. So, her recent form is not too good.
I fully expect a close match today, but I am wagering on the seasoned rejuvenated vet to make it into the US Open main draw
