I'd like to know what exactly people have seen from Halep this year that gives them so much confidence in her for this matchup. What I've seen is Simona getting exposed by Bertens and Vondrousova, and struggling against Tomljanovic and Linnette. Tsurenko was the biggest walking bye ever, and Simona still struggled on serve against her.
The way I see it, Simona's in danger and she better hope Iga is too nervous on the big stage and sprays errors everywhere. If she gets into the match like today, we're in for another "stunning" upset that shouldn't be stunning at all if you actually watch the matches and don't just rely on ranking & name recognition.
