Anyone taking a side? I am not doing a writeup because that always screws me, but real quickly:
Homecourt favors Monfils and he probably feeds off of that more than anyone. Radek will probably be high off his big recent wins despite the fact that the players were both inured. The slow surface means Monfils will be able to retrieve a ton of balls same as yesterday.
Homecrowds can rattle Radek... see Vienna vs Melzer not long ago where the home crowd caused him to quickly wither and get blown out. Cilic was also rattled in that tournament vs Melzer and he was again yesterday vs Monfils. I doubt Radek is going to be much different. Both crumbled last time they faced a ravenous crowd and I expect that both will here as well. One down, one to go.
This was far and away my favorite play of the day. Wasted some money on another pick for fun but this one I really like. Do I think Monfils is better than Radek? Not sure. But I think he will be better today.

oh and btw Monfils yesterday did things on defense I have never seen done before. I know Radek can become the #1 alternate for the WTF but that motivation seems to lead to more choking than success anyway.

Radek playing poorly as I expected. I really did think losing that very small parlay wager with him in it vs Melzer gave me information here. First set Monfils.
Some teams in the NFL are bad road teams, some in the NBA. Why is it so impossible that certain players are very susceptible to losing concentration in situations where the crowd is actively against him?
It is not often exposed because most tennis matches are very neutral but Radek is IMHO a very bad "road" tennis player. The accouncers said he relishes the role of villain but I disagree 100%.
Too bad about Gonzo retiring and moreso not converting those 7 match points... and Tsonga not taking advantage of his many chances yesterday early on. I feel like I am picking extremely well this week even with that refund and loss taken into account. I think I "got my money in good" on all my picks this week win or lose.

Doing well TC been a decent week money wise in tennis, hoping to have another really good one in the NFL. I am sure it is obvious I am better at picking there than here this year. My three plays are NE moneyline, Dallas -3 and NO -13.5 over my team, which I love but is dearly dearly outgunned here. That is the one I am most sure of but the other two I feel very strongly about as well. I could easily see myself go 3-0 but since it is a big investment (and I have hit lots of dogs this week parlayed with these picks to juice them up) 2-1 would still be an excellent weekend.
Cannot wait to see your thoughts on the last tournament of the year. Notwithstanding the fact that all players will be dsepleted it should be great to watch. I am sure the flat is beautiful.

Monfils up a break in the second. This would certainly make my day! Not as electric as yesterday but he didn't have to be... fading Radek here was my main factor as stated in the original post.
Almost there! Grind him out.

this match has suddenly become very interesting. Radek is changing tactics and now rushing the net every single point. I literally mean every one. It is working wonders for him. I hate seeing this. He is now into his game and fired up as hell.
But for me the tragedy is this: he was out of sorts serving at 5-3 to stay in it, up advantage on deuce to hold. Monfils makes the lob but they call it out. He fails to challenge or even think about it, thinking ahead to his serve. This was his chance to end it IMHO. The Radek changes his strategy, gains confidence with the break and now I am in some trouble.
Good point by the announcers that Monfils would probably have been thrilled to know he would at least get to three and possibly serve in the decider. "He would have said, where is the pen." So I do have that tiny bit going for me. And this set is not over yet...

Excellent excellent win. Radek sure picked up his play and made things highly entertaining but Monfils had the magic when it counted most. The pressure was on constantly and Monfils adjusted perfectly in the third. I have not been this satisfied with a medium wager won all year.
The song they played after the match was over was "Under Pressure" How appropriate! What a win what a win.

I am on the Saints too. I am considering to take the Saints Team Total OVER as well!
And I am on Cotto for the fight tonight, but just for fun!
yeah just dont think the Rams have the passing firepower to keep up and Jackson should see 8 man fronts all day... even if he has a good game I see blowout numbers in my head. I love the team total over too and might sprinkle some on that but since the Rams have so little O I think of the two bets as related.
Not sure who I like in that fight, might make a play later but it would have to be a small one. I like Atlanta to beat the crap out of the Hornets tonight too....
