I watched a few vids of Blanch. 16 year old lefty. The things I took note of were his ground game doesn’t look bad. Decent ball movement at times. Tough to handle when coming from the weak side. It’s tough to tell if there’s enough pace to trouble someone like Machac though.
His second serve is not pro ready yet and a guy like Machac should be able to take control of rallies very easily on return. I don’t expect to see many holds from Blanch today.
If the kid gets more than 5 games today, that’d be incredible. Not sure what the play is here though.
