Coric dropped out of the top 20 last week with his early exit from Cincy. He’s playing pretty good though, he ran into a well playing Hukacz.
This week is different. Playing against Baez, who’s wins on hard court usually come from hanging in points until the opponent make’s a weak shot or unforced error, I don’t think Baez will be so lucky here today. I don’t want to sell Baez “short” cause he is a great athlete, just his speed isn’t as helpful on the hard court.
Despite the importance of the US Open next week, I think Coric needs all the points he can muster here and Baez is not the toughest guy to beat on hard.

I can’t believe coric cant get a point on Baez’s serve. This dude is not known for a huge hard court service game. Came to play I guess. Looks like it was just a shakey start from coric. Can’t see the match so I don’t really know but this is not the match I was expecting.
