Safiulin has some quality match ups to have to go through. Griekspoor, Fils, Rune, and Hurkacz before the QF but he’s been pretty solid since Sept. Losing only to top tier players (Mannrino in career top form) but also beating some elites on the way (Zverev, Alcarez, Shelton.) That along with his Wimbledon QF appearance, I think he has the confidence and skill set to make a run here. It’s a decent line to hedge in the QF against Medvedev. Could also let it ride in the unlikely event of Medvedev bowing out early.

I liked how Zverev looked coming into this tournament. Norrie had a dud finish on hard court last year and Ruud I felt wouldn’t match up well against Zverev but Norrie looked pretty good to me in that 4th rd. Taking the buy out now while I’m up. GL to the tailers if you’re gonna let it ride.
