looking for a bargain computer and/or small sized laptop (under 15")

btw how do you find these deals? thanks

oh yea, where can i get a good deal on memory for my laptop sony viao vgn-s470p and what is the max i can put in there?

You will notice that a good amoumt of my computer posting are from Dell.  They contract us to do work and installs for them, also we get computers from them on thier small business division.

This is the memory you need for you laptop.  Go ahead and max it out, get the PC2-5300 at the bottom of the page. 2GB Kit (1GBX2)

thanks a lot lippsman!!!! COVERS is such an awesome place with awesome people!

hi lippsman, one more questions

i looked up on the internet that my laptop memory is 1GB DDR2-400 (PC2-3200) SO-DIMM

will the 2GB kit (1GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module u list me is compatible as well?

That's too big of a difference.  The difference is the speed in which the memory runs.  That bigger number the better, but of course computers can only take certain types of memory.  I looked your laptop on crucial.com and that was what came up.  To be on the safe side you should take out the memory chip and see what is says on it.

thanks, i just bought that crucial one

and just gonna hope that crucial one will work just fine!
