Gentlemen, a question about saving pictures..

My beloved Toshiba Sat 2002 is gradually fading on the screen and moving towards the morgue.

I'd like to get ahead of her departure and extract all of the pictures I have stored on my desktop/hardrive.

What is the procedure for this?

buy an external hard-drive or just burn them all to a cd/dvd

A few options:

Buy an external hard drive or a thumb drive and copy them on there.

Buy one of those external USB docks where you attach it to your desktop and can just drop any laptop or desktop drive into the dock.  About $20-$30 bucks.

If you have a Fry's nearby, you can buy an adapter so you can hook up the laptop drive to the desktop and copy them over (requires opening the machine, but the part is cheap. Under $5 I believe.)

you could also post them online and then redownload/save them on a new machine. not the most efficient way but it would be free
