I tried to download Spybot in safe mode first and it wouldnt connect to their server..amazing.
So I did the malwarebytes and then it disabled the internet connection so I went into internet explorer settings and disabled the use proxy server (which had some IP like 127.0 put in there).
The scan in safe mode took over an hour and had 10 registry entries..
Lipps,
Thats what I did..

Well it seems to be ok, but I am not convinced it is completely out.
I did another scan with the open system out of safe mode and it didnt bring anything up.
I get free Norton from Comcast but I cannot remember my stupid login or email to access their secure server and get the subscription updated.
same here with Comcast. I just went on the live chat thing they have and it was really quick. Would I be better off with Norton in comparison to the free AVG?

Had this garbage two weeks ago. Disabled the bs proxy server as you did, ran malware bytes, then spybot, spyware doctor, etc. Also downloaded two programs called Hitman Pro, as well as The Cleaner 2011. Both free from download.com.
I'm fairly sure spybot and malware were the ones that finally got rid of it. But both Hitman and the Cleaner found random stuff.
I also deleted some AV suite items directly from my registry, but that can get complicated.
