Question

If you want a bigger video card and bigger hard drive, but losing a gig of memory and a tad slower CPU here is something for you. Oh yeah, you save $50 off the other deal I posted also today. Oh yeah again , Vista only here.

Also, don't forget that this comes with Vista Basic. It's a pretty stripped down version of windows, but honestly most people wouldn't use the features anyway. But here is the differences between the versions so you can judge for yourself.

System Specs:

1.7GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor

Windows Vista Home Basic

15.4-inch Widescreen XGA Display with Anti-Glare

1GB DDR2 Memory

120GB Hard Drive

8x DVD Burner

ATI Radeon Xpress 256MB Video Card

Dell 1390 Wireless Card

Depending if you do much gaming this will dictate if you want this deal. Also if you need the extra hard drive space if you plan to load a good deal of programs or make this your own personal jukebox.

Go Dell.........

Do you think this has two HD slots? And how is the Athlon compared to the Intel processor? That seems to be the difference, the processor is likely cheaper cost so they bump up the vid card...

wallstreetcappers · Answer

How does it compare toTHIS

wallstreetcappers · Answer

Or what aboutTHISI hate rebates...

Lippsman · Answer

I like the Intel CPU a bit better. I don't think the Dell has two HD slots.

Not a fan of the Lenovo, I think the Dell at the top is a better deal. What it boils down to with the Lenove you are getting an extra gig of memory and losing the video card for $30 extra.

The Toshiba is actually a pretty good if you don't mind the rebate. I have had no trouble with Office Depot rebates at all.

With the Toshiba you are getting 256mb of shared video memory, but on the upside you are getting Home Premium instead of Windows Vista Basic.

If I had to pick I would take the Toshiba laptop. Damn, now I will have to buy some Toshiba stock.

All joking aside, as hard as that is for me. I think Toshiba makes a very good laptop. I have 20 of them in my inventory and the only trouble I've every had was a memory chip going bad on me. Which happened last week.

wallstreetcappers · Answer

Nope...didnt give me even the choice..had to be picked up in the store.

And after looking around it seemed like a pretty good deal. Most other places had it at the retail or higher price..449 for the system seemed really good.

Closest store is 100 miles away down to Tuscon, the PHX stores had none..

Lippsman · Answer

You want me to check my local stores and see if I can get it for you?

wallstreetcappers · Answer

No...impossible.Plus with shipping from another location (I thought about asking my dad where he lives etc) the value is gone..You are quite nice to offer though but with regular shipping the price is not as sweet.449 sure is a good deal though for that system. A 3 hr round trip trek to Tuscon doesnt seem worth it though.

wallstreetcappers · Answer

Looks like it is discontinued anyway, at least the link didnt work.I am sure it will come on sale again though, or maybe an even better deal on a better system.
