Sports Insights tracks public money vs big smart money. They track this from 30 different books. Big Smart money players are those who have a track record of winning overall. They usually are in the 57% -62% range. Sports Insights has contact with the books and they monitor the board when this money has ben played. They claim that the public in the first half of the football season collected only 38-39% of the time. The public go's for favorites first then home teams second. The linemakers slightly inflat the odds in that direction. If it were not for smart money it would be worse. This past week 90% of all public money was on Arizona. Smart money was on Minnesota. You see what happened. With some books you can see the amount being played. The public plays about 75% of its money on favorites if the dog is not a name team.
