Okay, this is really easy. It does not come up a whole lot but its easy to follow. Its been a nice little side system, bet to add to parlay, etc.
When a team wins a game by a score of 1-0, you bet that team on the UNDER the very next game. If they PUSH keep betting the UNDER until it wins or loses.
Other than a PUSH, there is no chase.

also -- have you tried chasing this system at all (ie. keeping betting until it goes under)? I am interested to see how many games it would take on average for one of the losses in the immediate next game to become a system win

I usually don't chase because of the juice. O/U does not have high juice but -110, -120, -130, -140 can start adding up. The only time I chase is if there is a PUSH since it did not cost me anything. With that in mind, last year was manageable where the longest chases were Washington G4, ANA and CAR went to a G3 before hitting an UNDER after winning a game by a score of 1-0. I don't have my spreadsheets from previous on my home computer but I do know there have been a few times when they went longer in other seasons. Personally, I'd rather increase my bet on each play than chase a team for one unit if they lose. Good luck and if you find a better way to play it feel free to share.

Have you tracked the success of other similar situations?
Taking the under for the next game of the loser of a 1-0 game? 2-0 or 2-1 game?
I have and it was not successful over the long term. I first started out with chase systems. I have shifted away from most of them. The only one I like is Dan's parlay system because there is no juice. I have limited my wagering to situations where I only bet one time unless there is a push. Also, I don't play on money lines above -150 and always try to find an edge with the PL and RL or alternate PL and RL. You don't have to have a high winning percentage with them to make a profit.

just went through last years games to track the games that would have hit. I assumed every line was 5.5. Seem like there were a lot that would have pushed so it may be worth it to try to bet an alternate line with more juice.. Our numbers were slightly different but overall very successful. I probably made some mistakes (and obviously you played pushes with the actual lines).

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in with some numbers that seem relevant to this thread. One totals system I play (but do not post/track in this forum) is to chase a team that has been shutout for an "under". So far this season the system is at +22 units with a "D", "B", and three "A" bets pending. The breakdown on the 22 wins are as follows:
"A" bet = 18
"B" bet = 3
"C" bet = 0
"D" bet = 1
Might be a nice compliment to your "1 and done" Couger (that, and fading my NHL Under!). Thanks for the thought sharing, and best of luck gents!

11/23 Capitals was 5 and did not matter.
1/21 Hurricans was a push and went to a 6th game before it won (3 push-2 loss)
2/14 Devils was 4.5 (9 goals in G1) and went to G2.
2/19 Islanders was 5 and pushed
2/21 Rangers was 4.5 (8 goals scored) and went to G2.
Most of the Devils games are set at 5.
Most of the Kings games are set at 5 when Jonathan Quick is in net.
You also see a lot of 5's with Montreal, Buffalo, Florida and Minnesota.
I looked at two game chases and even posted such last year. I just found that it varies too much from season to season. I was also playing to loser on under as well but it was not working out unless you chased. A one pump dunk or one and done on the winner of 1-0 just seems to work better. To each their own though. Some love to play chase systems. I like to take my winnings or my loss and move on in most cases.
