I started the season doing a chase system on all home teams for 3 game or more series. Did very good with it, but if I had two or three series losses for the week then I'd be in the red. Always worried, then I got away from that system.
Starting today I'm gonna do a chase system on home teams with two filters:
1. Home team must have overall record above .500.
2. Away team must have road record below .500.
Only play today: Cubs ML

I don't think you read the thread correctly. The home team must have an OVERALL record over .500. With that being said the five games that you mentioned do not qualify:
Cleveland-overall record .440
Cubs-won last night in game 1
Pitt-overall record .471
Cin-overall record .485
LAD-overall record .485
Also, of the three series that you brought up only one would have qualified, which was CHW. They won easily in game 1, 8-1, so that would have ended that chase right then. On the other two, Houston had a record of 46-52 before the series so they would not have been a play, Baltimore had a record of 47-50 so they would have not been a play either, although they did win in game 1 as well.
Remember, it's a CHASE system, if you win then the series is over, if you lose then you play the following game to win what you lost in game 1 plus 1 unit.

Damn, what a tonight. Philly only down 1 run going into 9th, and give up 7!!!! Detroit gives up a two-out, two-run homer in top of 9th!! Oh well, it happens. So far 0-3 tonight with Oak pending. So for tomorrow as of right now we have:
Det to win 2.25 units
Philly to win 2.25 units
Mil to win 2.7 units
If OAK wins then system goes 2-0, +2units with 3 series pending. If they lose then we have OAK tomorrow as well to win 2.25 units.

Picked up two more wins yesterday, philly and milwaukee. So record goes to 3-0 with 2 series pending. Got game 3 with detroit and oakland today. Detroit was looking good, right now top 8th two outs bases loaded....

I haven't looked at win streaks, but as far as not betting against top 1-5 teams....that's what I'm trying to accomplish with road team having a road record below .500. If you look at MLB standings then only 4-5 teams have a road record above .500 so in effect I'm avoiding the top 4-5 road teams.
