NBA RPI Spread System

they are reverse plays and they use a different set of filters. It is under the tab backtest reverse. I am currently tweaking the filters for those so they are not being played under the official plays

rice, thank you again for sharing your picks and system with us...i haven't been able to make all the plays you've posted but the one's i've played have been $$..14 outa 20 ...70% ..i'd never be able to hit that number w/o your help...keep up the great wrk...not sure how to friend you but will try..thank you again...

can anyone that understands this system 100% looking at ricemans spreadsheets please help me out.  I am looking at his spreadsheet and for the live of me on the refular spread filter as well as the reverse spread filter i can not figure out how he is coming up with the system plays.  A little insight would be appreciated.

 

ive gotta admit im right there w/ you. I donnt understand how to read what its giving out as plays. I just wanna learn in case "rice" isnt around to post the plays. ...For example tonight we have Utah as a play but reading the chart looks like SAnt.is the play.........Thanks again for sharing this awesome system :)

I was wondering the same thing about that game but i think it falls into the 2X filter making the opoosite team the play.  I still dont realy understand everything for sure tho bc i dont know when or how he decides to use the reverse filters.

Also looking at his examples on the filters tab a lot of them do not make sense to me and i feel like im missing something.  Really hope someone in here who understands it can give me/us a quick walkthrough with real time numbers as to what exactly is going on.

I know alot of you are confused on how the filters, calculations, and how i choose my picks. For now i do not plan on making it public.

I will continue to post the plays on cover and google docs.

based on past win and loss i knew after a streak there would be several losses and another streak. However, even though i knew the streak would end, remind me to never say anything about a streak ending...talk about a bad jinx on myself.

maybe next time after a streak should sit out a few days of play and let the losses go by.

I agree! I think the books know when to cash back when the public goes on a good streak =/ 

i noticed that the  dogs the spreadsheet had covering today went 5-1. Was that a fluke or is something to key on?thanks.Im going to backtest it later today from dec 1st and see how it did.

its not really a fluke when the system went official in dec 1st thete were 2 days where the dogs won and everything basically happened in the opposite of the system this happenrd also on several occasions in the past. the problem is how do u gauge when that will happen? by days? or by streaks? also when do u start playing again? this is something ive been working on 

I really wish there were more plays so i could backtest the losses between streaks that way we can get a better idea when to sit out and when to start playing again. But this is the first year for the system.

Anyways, the only play today that fits the filters is

san antonio -7

however i am not going to play this under the official play. we have found that after a streak there a few days where the dogs seem to win and things are reversed system wise. lets see if is true or not.

The official plays will probably start again 12/14 or 12/15

Didnt get to post today cause i was too busy. Houston was a play but i didnt get to bet on it. Kind of glad i didnt.

Not sure what is going on with the system. everything seems backwards from the beginning of the season. This also has been the longest loss streak.

I had hoped for better results even though it is the first year for the system. The good thing is with more games like this i am able to back test and tweak the filters even more. I think i will keep back testing and start official plays again after the first week of the new year.

hey rice, maybe eliminate the double digit favs/dogs since the % doesn't seem to be clse to 70%..i personally don't really like playing those large spreads..maybe that will help you filtering out some plays..jst a suggestion...i've done pretty well with your calls on the gmes with spreads in the 1-8 pts. area...jst a thought ..bol hope you come back with more winners..thank you again for sharing all your hard work..

hey sfg thanks you for your insight. originally 8+ spreads werent going to be plays but i thought i had worked out the filters to make them win over 70%. i will keep an eye on them during the next half month to see. im hoping all the teams are playing differently is just a fluke cause of the holidays lol
