NBA - Betting the bottom 3 or 4 totals on the board

Just checked out the totals in the early going.

Results of betting the UNDER on the 3 lowest totals on the board:

OCT 27 - 2-1
OCT 28 - 2-1
OCT 29 - DNQ
OCT 30 - 2-1
OCT 31 - 2-1
NOV 1  - 3-0

Total so far: 11-4

Results of betting the UNDER on the 4 lowest totals on the board (min 4 games)

Bottom 4

OCT 27 - 3-1
OCT 28 - 4-1 (two at 194)
OCT 29 - DNQ
OCT 30 - 3-1
OCT 31 - 2-2
NOV 1  - 3-1

Total: 15-6

Obviously it's early and teams are trying to find their groove, but still intriguing to track nonetheless.  5 games tonight, let's see how it fares.

I wish I had time for that.  Just checking it out on this season.

closing line or opening line?

Covers have data for last 3 seasons. You should make a backtest because it may be 50-50 in past.

Bottom 4: 21 - 8

I've been tracking first half and second half totals and this is much easier.

I wonder how long before it turns the other way

I will follow it and see. 

Looked at last years stats- only went until Dec

Over/Under for the bottom totals was approx.

70overs/ 83 unders

The first 72 bottom totals was an even

36-36...

So, it doesn't seem to have any value except there is currently an under trend.

Ya it just a matter of time before the books adjust or shooters shake off the early season rust.

Did you check the bottom 3 and 4 each night that had a min. of 4 games that night?

Say you have 8 games on the schedule.  The totals are:

189
194.5
199
209
185
219
225
190

You would bet the UNDER on the 4 lowest totals on the board which would be: 185, 189, 190 and 194.5.  The assumption is these are the lowest totals on the board for a reason.  That's it.  So far it's going well.

Well for now I just looked at the scores dating back to the first game of this season.  I assume that is the closing line on Scores scoreboard.  If the DAL-NO hits under it will be 3-1 for 4 games and 2-1 for 3 games.  Let's see what happens!

Over was a no go...if anything it was a slight loser or .500 at best.

First losing night for bottom 3.  How ironic now that I have brought attention to it.

Actually, there were so many games and it was taking a long time to look for the bottom 3 and bottom 4, that I started looking at all over/unders in the 180s. 

So, the 2nd half of the results were for games over/under in the 180s.

Last night:

Bottom 3: 2-1
Borrom 4: 2-2

Bottom 3: 18-6
Bottom 4: 23-10

Tonight:

Bottom 3: 2-1 (BOS@NJ , NY-MIL , CHA-CHI )
Bottom 4: 2-2 (BOS@NJ , NY-MIL , CHA-CHI , MEM-LAC )

Bottom 3: 20-7
Bottom 4: 25-12

Bottom 3 looking like the better choice so far.

Good night for Bottom 4 and Bottom 3 keeps chugging along doing it's thing.  Updated totals so far:

Bad night: 5 games and 4 overs...was due to happen...FIRST bad night in 2 weeks...not bad.
