Looking for spreadsheet formulas for each sport

I'm looking for some more useful formulas to help predict scores.  So far I've got a few for points scored, margin of victory, winning percentage, and ratings.  I'm not sure which is most accurate.  Please share any insight you may have.  So far, I'm getting a mixed bag of results.  Sticking to basketball and football for now.
