Just as the title says. Is 2% of your bank roll per bet too high or good enough to withstand swings without much sweat longterm?

I'd say it should be okay as long as you are following a proven model, and you don't have more than say 8-10% exposed per day.
I play anywhere from 0.5% to 2.5% per play and can have up to 15% exposed per day but mostly it's around 5-8%
Be sure to adjust your unit sizes if you ever drop down to 80% of your starting bankroll, and I wouldn't increase unit size until the end of a season.

all depends on what you bet one.
If you do not bet chases, and play point-spread games (NFL & NBA) you will be fine.
If you play mostly ML games (MLB and NHL) you may get yourself in trouble if you bet heavy favorites.
If you bet chases, you really have to dig in and evaluate how many games can be at the maximum level at the same time and the average odds.
