2-1 is not really that good of a price IMO but the price is still dropping as we speak so at least I got some decent value. The problem is that that value has been created by the public just pounding her here before the race which isn't the kind of value I normally look for. I'd rather be on the other side of the public but with one more race left for this amazing mare and the chance to retire undefeated...
Quality Road and Blame have a good chance and could easily outrace Zenyatta. A Looking at Lucky win would be a great story for the Breeders Cup considering her past troubles.
The reasons this wasn't a 'huge' play:
- It's being raced in the East where Zenyatta is relatively untested and could be subject to "jet leg". The owners made the decision to bring him in early to adjust for this but it might not be enough.
- Zenyatta usually races against mares only but will now be subject to the boys.
- Zenyatta is best on synthetic, not dirt or grass.
- Zenyatta is six years old; they were going to retire her after last season but decided against it and the affects of old age may take their toll.
- No horse has ever retired undefeated.
- Zenyatta has faced relatively weak competition; today will be the true and final test of whether or not she secures her legacy.
That being said, GO ZENYATTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a race!
I'm horribly devastated for Zenyatta/Mike Smith but god she put in work! She was 20 horse-lengths behind after a bad start and battled back to come second; if there was 10 feet more, she would have won it for sure no doubt in my mind. Great ride by Smith but it hurts to see him lose like that.
I didn't post it but I fired some 'hedge' bets on Quality Road and Blame to cover my ass a bit which is why I'm more mad/upset on behalf of Zenyatta/Mike Smith/Jerry Moss.

HA! Just for kicks I went to look at taylor2's website... what a joke! I published better looking websites in my 3rd grade computer class back in the day.
