Is there anyone taking the consensus picks in all sports and making a real money profit for a long time?
Is it a good, easy option or more analysis is required?||paint_help.gif' border=0>

Online sports betting is a multi-billion dollar establishment. It didn't get that way from people making a ton of money from following a concensus. In other words, DO NOT JUST FOLLOW the consensus. It's a good marketing ploy but not a good betting strategy.
However, there are good strategies to use. Finding what strategy works for you, first depends on what your goals are. After you have defined your goals then you find the strategy that will achieve them. There are different handicappers out there who claim to have money management strategies. Some work, but most don't work when you start crunching the numbers. I would recommend some sites, but I think that violates rules under this forum. Maybe you will run into my site one day, we stress money management over all else.
And, once you learn its not how many you win or lose, it's how much money you made. You will be on your way to very profitable years.
Good Luck to You

I look at the consensus and then compare it to the team expert picks...scroll down and click, on the same page...I look for differences and go with the experts when there is a variance...the majority of people who pick on here...the consensus, have losing records!! I also check the season leaders picks under league contest heading and a few picks on the forums...when in doubt take the dog...I'm always +$ in dog pools!!
Cautiously pessimistic

I agree with poolboy. The majority of the "all player" picks have got to be bogus. But what about the "top 10%" and "team expert" picks?
They have proved their credibility (may be for a short term) thats why they are in top 10 and experts.

Hi Orderofpoint,
Your suggestions are indeed valuable. But you know following a worst system is as tough as finding a good one. Can you gurantee a worst picking service? If there is one then I will just reverse their picks and make money.||an_roll_laugh.gif' border=0>

Orderofpoint,
Further to the above, I know the immence importance of money management in all sphears of betting or trading. But the point is never on the internet I found a good strategy which can be followed religiously. I am giving you an example.
I can consistantly generate 70% winning picks with average odds 1.43 (decimal) or 30% winnning picks with av odds 3.33. In both cases in the long run you will just break even if you follow level stakes. If you suggest progression like martingle then I am not for it. Thats sure way to disastar.
So what are other options for me to make money in the long run consistently with the above sets of picks. Do you have any answer in your website, then please let me know the URL. My email is antariks@sify.com
Thanks.||Peace_5.gif' border=0>

Some top handicappers can outperform top 10% consensus picks. Some are able to generate profits every month this season. But knowing who to follow is as hard as predicting the future. Everyone is capable of having losing and winning streaks. So be careful who you choose. Following someone requires discipline and enough money to survive the highs and lows.

If you look at the consensus on wagerline you are wasting your time. Every favorite has a higher percentage on the consensus which is absolutely ridiculous and shows why vegas makes money. Just stop and think about it, ooooh the yankees are playing the royals, -350 and there are like 90% on the yankees. If the royals win one game out of a 3 games series you are going to lose money if you bet the yankees every game.
