does anyone pay attention too the betting trends posted on vegas insider. some of the betting trends are in the 90's and I was just curios if anyone has had success betting these types of teams or if it is similar too betting the consensus on wagerline where the public often goes strongly with the favorites.

Most short-term trends involving sides and totals tend to even out somewhat over the season. I've had some success with fading the trends that are hitting an unusually high short-term rate. It's like stopping by a roulette wheel in a casino and noticing that it's hit black 11 times in a row. Conventional wisdom dictates that it will hit red sooner rather than later because of the law of large numbers, but really anything can happen short-term. The success I've had is factoring in the trend in my handicapping, and betting against the trend using a progression method when it appears to be heavily in my favor.
