Betting on totals using the flow the team's in.

Hi everyone!  Isn't it smart and usefull to bet on totals when following the last 3 games of the teams.To see in which flow they are?

in which sport?
i ve tried this on soccer and didn't work
in NBA maybe but you have to consider the schedule of the teams i.e. a team can have 3 in a row against offensive or defensive minded teams and these alternate their numbers
