2013 DOG and PONY SHOW

I'm not going to do the chase. The biggest reason I don't like the chase is it's a lot of work for little reward. I will watch for C games and probably play those.

Watch the lines. Seattle off, Philly moves to Atlanta and now Arizona is on the board at -103. Its a crazy system and you have to be willing to place a bet minutes before they close. Thats what makes this so hard, but if you can do it, I believe you can make money.

Atlanta -103 is the play!

Just switched to Philly -101 at 7:03.

And right back to Atl -103 at 7:10. 

It's a pain in the a$$, but it's worth it. Atlanta was the play.

St. Louis has become the play. When the odds are even take the visitor. This line should change just before post time.

There is is nothing scientific about this, it's just a trend that I've been following.

Philly is -105, ATL-103 according to Covers. Why was ATL the play?

We take the DOG play in these situations. Earlier today Philly was the DOG. Thats why the thread is called "THE DOG AND PONY SHOW".

That's 2 of 3 so far. A St. Louis win will make it 3 for 3.

Irage, I followed a little bit last year and appreciate your work. It drives me crazy when I pick the dog and 10 minutes after the first pitch the lines change (i.e. braves tonight). At the start of the game, the line on this site had phillies as the dog. Any tips on how to read the lines better to prevent picking the wrong team?

This is part of the rules, if those lines are jumping back and forth, just skip it. That's the trick, I look first thing in the morning to see the opening lines. Then I watch about 30 minutes until post time. for the changes. This early in the year there are going to be a ton of line movements.

St. Louis is a no play at 109 because Arizona is at -118. Both teams have to be 110 or below.

Angles were not a play today. Doesn't look like we will get any games today.

Very tricky indeed.  Watched the covers odds on the Texas / LAA  gm. which was Tex -110  LAA +108  up to the point where I figured it was going off the board . Still these odds showing. I place bet & game starts, now odds at covers are Tex -117  LAA +108. If line had been jumping around I would have laid off. But was @ the -110 / +108 for some time.  Tricky indeed.
