Please be aware that the Survivor grand prize will be structured differently during 2008, as compared to 2007. Moving forward the standard grand prize for Survivor will be $10,000. At certain times of the year, the grand prize may change to be a cash or merchandise (cars, trips, or similar) prize of equal or greater value than $10,000. EVERY 21 game streak winner will be eligible for the $10,000 cash prize (or special promotion grand prize if won during a promotion). The grand prize will not change after the first 21 game streak is achieved. As of January 1st , Wagerline has been running a Super Bowl promotion where if any registered user achieves a 21 game streak on or before Super Bowl night (February 3rd) the grand prize is $100,000 cash. Following Super Bowl the grand prize will return to $10,000 until our next event is run as per the official rules for this contest. All other prize levels (9, 13, 17) and prizes for those levels remain the same for 2008. Thank you and good luck. Start your streak today! Wagerline Team

Sorry guys but speaking as a fellow competitor and not a linesman for Wagerline how do you figure it has gotten harder? The prize value has changed maybe but the number of wins remains the same so the effort is the same as it has been. And the feeling that this free chance to win anything sucks jus floors me. I am a strong proponent of the freedom of choice. You have a choice here fellas! You can play or not play and it does not cost you anything to perform either choice. I do not like Hospital TV shows so I choose not to watch them. You have a choice and that is a good thing. Hope this helps and I did not intend to create bad feelings. ||thumbs_up.gif' border=0>

If yu start your streak in 2--7 and complete your 21st win in a row in 2008 you will still qualify for the $100,000. W-T I think people are mad because we were lied to more than anything linesmen. A lot of people were taking their time wating to make picks when the new year started now you just give them a month and its going to 10,000. Sure 10,000 is good money for a free contest but its change compared to the 100,000, doesnt make good sense to change it. When people see 100,000 dollars, more than they make in a year it draw their attention and you get more people to sign up and more advertisers. This is going to happen when you knock the prize down 90%

" A lot of people were taking their time wating to make picks when the new year started " Who in their right mind waits to make picks in a free contest especially since it is a difficult one to win in the first place. That post was in October....as we all know with the passing of time situations change. Now if i was playing with my own money i would pissed but none of us are . Upset Saturday. Let the games begin!!!

Linesman jus... you have constructed several straw dogs and then knocked them down. 21 is just as hard as it ever was but this has nothing to do with free choice except in the dismissive case as Wagerline has chosen to reduce survivor by 90% with no reduction of difficulty or no reduction of the delightful pop-up ads and you can choose to play or piss-off.I'm positive the prize could $100 and there would still be a horde to play a free contest. My time has a value and in MY opinion this is not equitable return for my efforts. Before the snipers come out of the woodwork - play the free contest or don't play the free contest and if I don't play then marginally better for the remaining players. Still IMO this still Sucks...

"Marginally better for the remaining players"?? Whether you play or not has no relevance! Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Its simple economics. What the market will bear. If someone begins a different site that gives away more money than Wagerline, people will flock to it and Wagerline will lose a lot of advertising and perhaps have to reconsider. If there is no better site Wagerline will keep all of its players and continue to receive ad monies and the prize will remain the same. Anyone out there going to build a better mousetrap? Time will tell. GL to everyone.||an_cheers.gif' border=0>

Tuppy- as long as they offer differing prizes or payouts with deadlines the fewer players in the pool the better chance marginally for those remaining. butusmlb- Exactly, all human activity is governed by 3 factors, ego..fear..greed. This contest ties in to 2 of them. But I do think there is another result of your better mousetrap question. The 3rd occurence will be no one offers a better site but wagerline sees a loss of players like I think happened when Tuppy won in mid-2007. You do not change contests without taking in all the variables. These guys are not dumb!! People will always go for free contests that pay out. You always lose people for various reasons which would have been taking into consideration. You would just be 1 of these stats but generally new people show up to replace the ones that are gone. It is all a cycle Go Chargers

Tuppy- I think you're being a company man here.I'm not sure how much planning went in to the decision to reduce Survivor by 90% except they aren't going to pay 100,000 again. What is the incentive to new players to start a contest with less money but still same hard rules? To spocsstocks point -by reducing the payout by 90% they should reduce the required streak by 90% and payout 10,000 on a streak of 3 winners in that case, pay me and a thousand other players, which puts it in perspective. billyloco- I count 23 days until Feb 3 so don't diddle around but a man with a plan can not be defeated. You know what... natedogs and I have had our problems before in the past, but I am in total agreement with him here. Not that Tuppy should go away, but that he should stop riding the you know what of wagerline's teams. Is this contest good? Yes. Any free contest where money is paid out is amazing. Should wagerline understand why people are upset? Yes. Especially when many posts were made in regards to the prizes and $100,000 was said to be the prize after 1/1/08. In wagerline's defense, (while a short time span) they have given notice as to when a 21 game streak must be achieved and it is enough time (if you hit every single game every single day) to hit 21 before the Super Bowl. But, back to my main point, natedogs and 666les are correct in their beliefs on you tuppy. You won the $100,000. Now you sound like an inside man working for the company. For all we know, you could truly be an inside man. With no disrespect intended, please stop degrading people's disgusted and upset feelings with the rules change. Is it free? Yes. If you don't like it can you leave? Yes. But is it a little strange that all of a sudden the rules changed? Yes. I think people are mainly upset because the wagerline referees said the prize would be $100,000 after 1/1/08. Now all of a sudden, it has to be achieved by 3/3/08. I am obviously going to continue to play because $10,000 is better than 0, but it is a little disappointing to have one less zero at the end of the prize value! Hope I don't get thrown in the penalty box for respectfully communicating my thoughts and opinions. Good luck all. ||an_speak.gif' border=0>

666les your point is well taken but im not sure if youre correct about the loss of players after tuppy won. im going to try and do a little homework on that and see what i can find. As far as natedogs is concerned I have yet to see one post by him yet that has been positive as far as either congratulating someone's accomplishment or encouraging someone close to a strong accomplishment. Only pats on the back for himself and his grandiose dreams which so far have registered a zero. Even outbackman843, as immodest and improper as his braggadocio was, still took the time to occasionally pat someone else on the back besides himself. Well, at least once anyway. ||peace.gif' border=0>

Butkus I agree with you that natedogs is a big talker who can't back up his claims of superior handicapping. In fact, I have had many arguments with natedogs about his inappropriate comments and what not. I used to be a supporter of Tuppy, but some of his recent posts concerning people's feelings about the recent downgrade in prize money have been in comparison to celebrities supporting a candidate in the current presidential primaries. It is as if Tuppy (the biggest wagerline "celebrity" if you will) is Oprah Winfrey and Wagerline is Barack Obama! ||an_clap.gif' border=0> P.S. I am still playing because $10,000 for a free contest is still better than 4 zeros with no one in front of it! haha.

Not an equitable return on your effort??? WHAT effort?? Sitting down and doing the same thing you'd be doing anyway??? Of all the less than well thought out comments I've seen on Wagerline ranks right up there with the most assinine! What are you, A liason to the middle-east peace talks or something? Run a multinational do you? Just sooooo tight on time that you can't be bothered to play unless it's 'worth your while'? Puh-leeeeeze!! Here's another little giggle for ya....."if you go, we'll never get over it". ||an_roll_laugh.gif' border=0>||an_laugh.gif' border=0>||an_shake.gif' border=0>||thumbs_down.gif' border=0>||peace.gif' border=0>
