I admire your discipline and your ability to pick games with strong odds in your favor. You also have the knack of laying off games that despite the numbers you feel will be too close to call. That's an area I'm extremely poor at.  We can learn alot from your epic streak.

Frankieb falls short so all the focus is back on DogCaller! It just goes to show you just how special these streaks are. This is rarefied air ladies and gentlemen. Just sit back, grab some popcorn and enjoy the experience.

Did you know you can actually hedge now at 19 win ?. That is you can make your Covers pick for 20 in a row, but bet cash ,say 2k on the the team u think will lose. If your Covers pk wins, u will lose the 2k but now u can hedge even more, say 10k, when u go for 21 in a row. If you lose at 20, you will collect 10k or so on the cash bet,and the 1k you will get from Covers too for 17 in a row. Of course u can hedge again at 23 and 24 picks too. This is exciting for you and we who are cheering you on, just make your best pick, and see what happens.  The best odds u can get is minus130, on a visiting team. However, that did not work today,as the Cardinals Minus 130,  lost 5 to 4 in Milwaukee.

Hi Guys and Gals! Hope you are all having a Great weekend!

You know Smooth...it would have certainly been "Rarified" air around here if I had actually played on Houston! Whew! Up by 2 runs bottom of the eighth, losing by one in the middle of the ninth, and then actually finishing off the game by the end of the ninth would have had my ticker doing somersaults!! (and other body parts) LOL!

Anyways, Underdogs1979, I was on Toronto the whole way, but it was only offered the first game for the streak. I most certainly would have gone with 3 in a row with that team. So, just catching up with stuff in the Real world here, before settling down this evening to figure out what might be worth taking a look at for tomorrow. But honestly, I wasn't happy to see Frankie go down. This streak thing isn't a race. But I could see it could be a very risky bet, and I doubt if I would have pulled the trigger on that one. Nevertheless if Detroit could have closed the door on Boston in that big inning, they might have stood a chance. Anyways, things to do...later crew!

Oh God here comes the Hedge crowd. It never fails. If you hit 20 be prepared for long discussions about the virtues of hedging. Nevermind the fact that it's a logistical nightmare and that's even if you have the money.

This is exciting for you and we who are cheering you on, just make your best pick, and see what happens.  The best odds u can get is minus130, on a visiting team. However, that did not work today,as the Cardinals Minus 130,  lost 5 to 4 in Milwaukee.

Oh God here comes the Hedge crowd. It never fails. If you hit 20 be prepared for long discussions about the virtues of hedging. Nevermind the fact that it's a logistical nightmare and that's even if you have the money.

    Good Morning!!

Today's slate has a staggering 1 game on it. Last game on the board too, where my streak of losses there, is longer than my streak of wins here. The Carrot dangles over the -127 to -130 line there for the recently crushed Dodgers, begging me to fall off the cliff along with them and the game's availability before the day's through. I think I'll pass.

That will give me time to get my hedge bets in place...LOL! And being in the tree and yardwork business for decades, I know how much work they can be...hehe! But I'm talking about a conservative hedge. Not this ridiculous throw away half the money to be sure to get some. That just means you gotta win twice to break even....duh! Well, you can't fix stupid, you can only numb it with a hammer...

What I'm talking about is that in the unlikely event of a loss on these last two picks that I'd have a few bucks for a nice weekend. To not end up with even one uncirculated canadian penny, doesn't  seem to me to be treating oneself very kindly... ;0) So off I go to get some UKrainian Cash, to make sure I get my grumbling account loaded in time to flat bet the NFL season...LOL!

I noticed that the tightest odds on the board today...the BAL SEA game, fell into oblivion. So I guess the consensus got too high on BAL, and it disappeared. I thought the oddsmakers were the ones who decided what a game was worth and not the general public. I think I SEA the general public getting it's butt kicked today.

          Cheers!

Dogcaller, I'm loving your daily posts to the thread. Thanks for the analysis/input and entertainment although the correct grammar/spelling is throwing me off a bit.  Good luck!

Target practice?  What the hell are you talking about?

Man, are you ever sensitive!?  I was trying to give you good advice, learn from my mistakes.

I was up to  14 and kept talking myself out of winners, I began to over think it.

I see you mention a lot of winners and never take them, you'd already have the money if you just kept doing what you were doing.

Guess you like the limelight more than you do the money.

Anyway I'll be quiet before I become target practice, don't think I could handle that.

    Hey Donny!

    You got me all wrong!

PM me friend. I can explain everything. But I'll apologize to him here in the forum for using him to continue a line of humour about someone else, that I guess he was unaware of... And if you don't PM me Donny, I did give you your koodoos for the comment...

    No abuse intended.

     Peace Out...

Donny-I believe DogCaller was referring to NFLNewbie who had become quite insistent on knowing DC's picks for the day.

Lines are initially established by the Books but after that each Book will set their line according to how the money is flowing. If too much money is coming in on the favorite they will increase the line. If too much money is coming in on the dog they will decrease the line. Covers basically will remove Baseball and Hockey lines if goes higher than -130 or the consensus reaches 70%. Sometimes those lines will come back if you check later though.

Dog/Smooth - my bad gents.  I read it wrong.   With you two being the veterans of this forum I should have known better.

I hardly looked in here until recently when I got up to 14, it was then I started to read and see what others were doing.

In short?   I started to over think things.  I felt worse not for losing, but for starting to 2nd guess myself on everything.

Anyway, good luck Dog.   Be true to yourself, that way IF you happen to lose (I don't think you will) at least you did your way.

    Go get 'em!

And good idea on these threads Smooth, not sure where you came up with it but pretty sharp idea.

Thanks Donny. The Whitesmith actually was the first to start it. He fell off and passed the baton on to me. You can find him on the All-Star list for streaks. We just felt that Covers wasn't giving these long streaks the attention they deserved so it's something I've been doing now for about 3 or 4 years. I usually wait till a streak hits 15 or 16 and then start a thread.
