does covers send a tax form if you win?

I realize this is a question best asked when you get closer to winning a cash prize (but) does anyone know if covers sends you a tax form when you win a monetary prize? I know they themselves do not collect taxes-I can not find information on this

If you win over $600 I believe you will receive a 1099 or form for Gambling/Contest winnings. They do state that you will be responsible for your own taxes according to your country's tax code.

ok I just emailed and someone named andy responded to me and said no tax form sent-if anyone else was wanting to know

I am going to update this thread again after I get a response from the staff because I think the user who responded about covers filling out a 1099 may be correct. When I asked if covers sends YOU a tax form they said no, but I did not ask if THEY filled out a 1099 and sent it to irs. This website it sounding more and more hinky. I understand why espn streak is liked by players a lot more. I can't risk screwing up my taxes for a few hundred bucks. I am going to have to go with espn streak from now on. At least with their prize package I don't have to fly out to their offices to claim it.

You don't have to fly out to their offices to claim your winnings. Covers will pay you and send you a 1099 at the end of the year. Every website does this so I'm not sure what you're looking for.

And ive won 1000 4 years ago and no taxes. They dont ask for your social security number. Its not asked for on the affidavit.
