Can anyone explain the Covers "consensus" system? Why does Covers let me pick Miami at -130 and a consensus of 61%.....but NOT let me pick Minnesota at -129 and a consensus of 59%?

I wondered that myself. I asked them awhile back. So the cutoff is -130 just is, their rules. So lets say the favorite is -129 or less and the consensus on the pick is 70% or greater, the pick of not offered. Any consensus 70% or less on a -129 line the pick is offered. Anything greater than -130 consensus doesn't matter pick not offered. Doesn't really bother me. Not a fan of big favorites. Thats why most totals are offered. Anything less than -129 if the consensus is 70% or less the pick is offered. Anything greater than 70% the pick is not offered.

@Jayahaa
There have been serious glitches in the system. Happens too much when a total is not offered at below 70% consensus. Totals are almost always -129 or less. Then you have to worry if the consensus allows you to make the pick.
There have been problems lately with getting the pick graded and cleared for a next pick. Sometimes takes 24 hours and you can't get the pick because the previous one has not been graded.

That's not true! On any given day, there are several MLB games with a moneyline under -1.30 and under 70% that aren't available to pick on Survivor.
Baltimore Orioles on May 17 is just one example. Covers wouldn't let me pick Baltimore at -1.15 and a consensus of 41%
Happens every freaking day!

That's what Covers said long time ago. What irritates me in answer to your statement that's not true. Sometimes the consensus is well below 70% on totals and the game is never offered! So not always true you are correct. Been here since 2007 and things like this never happened then.

but yet they have bad lines on the board and have no problem with the likes of mollydog taking the under on a wnba game at 187.5 when it was never close to that line in real life...opened at 166.5 and closed at around 169.5...that is the 2nd time during his streak that he got away with a bs line..he had storm + double digits earlier in the week and they were like 2.5 pt favourites..i remember last year he took a bad line under of lik 260 in ncaab..oklahhoma state/central florida i believe...was up 5 months before the game was scheduled...he locked himself in on a 2 gamer for that length of time and they eventually voided the play.....a lot of inconsistency in regards to whatever the consensus is and bad lines
