Anybody have any consensus trends they want to share?

I've always wondered how accurately someone could use the consensus to predict game outcomes. I've wanted to track it but I haven't had the time.
My instinct says to fade them, since in most contests it seems most contestants are in the hole. Any thoughts or observations?
