with the talk of C-Ro7, I will leave it w/ this.
It is a huge loss, just like Becks not being there was now a different team (no, I am not saying Becks and C-ro7 are anywhere near same talent). The money again from real is just too good to pass up. It is tough to even think of the midfield w/out him. Man U has always had that as the prized position, thus the honor of wearing No.7 there. When you talk about team mates, and great ones, look no further than Roo. He takes himself away from the glory to make the team better. He gets to play where he is suppose to in England. Look for him to get the ball more and I expect his goals to shoot up being able to play off Berbs. Sir Alex needs to find the next young gun, and it might not be till next year.this will be a tough year, and expect no higher than 2 nd place. Still think they are better than Chelsea and Arse, but Pool will take the title this yr. There will be no 4-peat.
i wrote a long response only do have my comp freeze. WOW
I agree that the lose will be similar and in no way think that equating the lose of another #7 against one another doesn't mean you're equating players to each other. (no need for damage control with me I believe you to be intelligent enough to already now that they are totally different in roles)
Cristiano has skills, and talents maybe the best never had. He can score from anywhere, has speed, strength, dribbling, and flopping skills (ok cheapshot but i had to, i kid i kid)
As far as Rooney he is a joy to watch. His effort comes through the screen. He is the ultimate team player, and will showcase his talents for Man U as he has been doing for England. I believe it all changed for him when he was sent off against Portugal. Ever since that moment he has been the perfect professional on the pitch. His unselfishness is amazing, and his skills are only going to get better.
I don't care for berb and would like to see the young itialian more. Berb is one of those players who produce but must recieve help from others as opposed to helping others IMO.
2nd place? I don't think so Pool are strong but not deep enough. Torres is the best striker in form, but is prone to injury and with playing so many games for spain i fear he will be hurt for next years World Cup unless watched strictly... The only trouble on the horizion is that their finances seem to be in order now that Gillett has sold the Canadiens for $550 million WOW. But unless they strenghten their squad they will have trouble staying healthy IMO and make the league wide open making it more interesting than past years..
GL and this game should be great....
